WE needed a close in spot for one night in Galway. This was a good choice. Hotel looked and felt brand new. Room was small but comfortable. Underground parking so you don't have to leave the building for check in and out. Nice staff and decent breakfast. Definitely an in town hotel and therefore convenient to Galway stuff.

Food (Breakfast) and Dinner (ordered ala carte off the lunch menu ahead of time) was excellent. Loved the honor bar for cocktails. Loved the cozy rooms and warm fires in the fireplace. Loved being able to take a short walk around the property on an established trail. Room was very comfortable. Staff was very attentive and accommodating - highly recommend!

The location was glorious. The view of the bay from our window was breathtaking. The location, near Connemara Park was very convenient. Also very close to Clifden, Roundstone the coastline made it easy to get to the main tourist sites in the area. The manor itself was all that we hoped for and more. The very comfortable greenhouse style lounge was a great place to hang out after touring, or before dinner. There were several lovely rooms to sit in and relax or socialize when not in your room. The decor in the dining room was tasteful and the food was amazing. The room was quite spacious and comfortable, and the staff was very courteous and very helpful. Roseleague Manor was a highlight of our visit to Ireland!

From the moment I arrived at Abbyglen Castle, I was enveloped by its serene charm and breathtaking views. The location itself is nothing short of magical, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by stunning landscapes that take your breath away. It’s clear that the owners have poured so much care and love into the property. Every corner of the castle reflects attention to detail, from the cozy interiors to the meticulously kept grounds. The atmosphere here feels so inviting, making it easy to relax and unwind. There is a wonderful sense of peace that surrounds the entire place, making it a perfect getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. What sets this place apart, however, is Brian, the owner. He has a special gift for making everyone feel like family. His ability to entertain and bring guests together is unmatched, and it’s obvious he loves what he does. He shows genuine interest and takes the time to get to know each person, ensuring everyone feels included and at home. To top it off, he’s an incredibly talented piano player and singer, adding a personal touch with live performances that create an unforgettable atmosphere. His warmth and musical talent elevate the experience, making you feel like you’re staying with an old friend.

Stunningly gorgeous property, close to Galway city. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Customer Service was top notch. Special mentions to the breakfast supervisor and Estelle (who served us breakfast one morning) at the River Room. Estelle stood out because she was always smiling, welcoming and made great suggestions on our order. The other special mention is that someone on the front staff spotted us carrying our luggage when we were checking out and ran over to help us out. These little details matter, so keep it going Glenlo Abbey staff.

Would not recommend, this hotel should not be 4 star. Not central-misleading to say it is central when it's actually only central to Claregalway village. Stains all over carpets in hallways. Reception area depressing. Breakfast poor. Jacuzzi all plastic broke round the sides and a couple of bubbles, looked more like a dirty bath.

Outside the town is more interesting than inside.

Outside the town is more interesting than inside. But avoid the minibus tours. Our driver, John, spent five frickin' hours driving around trying to find more passengers, during which time he showed us only two of the sights. He also spent some of the time essentially providing a taxi service, and treated his taxi customers with much more consideration than his tour passengers. It was a waste of our money and a much bigger waste of our limited time on the island.
