It's a lovely quiet village and the people are very friendly. We had a really nice time in the local pub meeting up with some of my husband's relatives. Although it rained a lot while we were there it didn't dampen our mood.Guest review byChrissieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Would not recommend, this hotel should not be 4 star.
Would not recommend, this hotel should not be 4 star. Not central-misleading to say it is central when it's actually only central to Claregalway village. Stains all over carpets in hallways. Reception area depressing. Breakfast poor. Jacuzzi all plastic broke round the sides and a couple of bubbles, looked more like a dirty bath.Guest review byGemmaIreland - 8.0
Outside the town is more interesting than inside.
Outside the town is more interesting than inside. But avoid the minibus tours. Our driver, John, spent five frickin' hours driving around trying to find more passengers, during which time he showed us only two of the sights. He also spent some of the time essentially providing a taxi service, and treated his taxi customers with much more consideration than his tour passengers. It was a waste of our money and a much bigger waste of our limited time on the island.Guest review byKarenUnited States - 10.0
This was my first time in Loughrea and I loved it.
This was my first time in Loughrea and I loved it. I had dinner in Maggie Mays which was gorgeous. The next morning I had breakfast in Chefs Cafe and loved it too. I went for a refreshing swim in the lake. It was bliss.Guest review byJennyIreland - 10.0

Hasn’t changed since childhood holidays 48 years ago! People still very friendly and welcoming. Love the quick wit and sense of humour. Great village-style choice of pubs, food shopping, restaurants and gift shops. Sense of a real and supportive community. Everyone flexible and willing to help. Easy access from village to multiple sports and beautiful views.Guest review byAnderleyUnited Kingdom
