Reflections on My Calgary Experience – Rotary Convention &...
Reflections on My Calgary Experience – Rotary Convention & More I recently had the privilege of attending the Rotary International Convention in Calgary—and what an incredible experience it was! The atmosphere was electric, filled with inspiring sessions, global fellowship, and the true spirit of Rotary service. Beyond the convention, I managed to squeeze in a few local adventures despite my tight schedule. I tried my hand at golfing in Calgary for the first time—a refreshing and memorable experience! Though I didn’t get the chance to visit Banff or other scenic sites, I still enjoyed some leisure time shopping, tasting local wines and craft brews, and witnessing the early preparations for the famous Calgary Stampede. It was exciting to see the city buzzing with energy and anticipation. I met new people, saw new faces, and soaked in the warmth and hospitality of Calgary. Looking back, I truly wish I had planned to stay longer—just enough to enjoy the full Calgary Stampede experience! Calgary was unforgettable, and I carry back not just memories, but a deeper appreciation of Rotary’s global reach and the joy of cultural exploration!Guest review byCapt. VeeNigeria - 10.0

Amazing scenery - just walking along the river was calming and our photos showed the incredible scenery. We didn't have a bad meal during our days here. It is the central location for going all over the region. The regional bus system was very easy to use and convenient for those without a car. The view from the top of the gondola ride was definitely worth it, and even just the short trails we took gave us a feel for the majesty of the mountains.Guest review byWagner - 10.0
Our time in Canmore was absolutely fantastic.
Our time in Canmore was absolutely fantastic. The town has everything you need for daily life, but it also offers a great variety of tourist attractions and activities. The surrounding hiking trails are exceptionally well-marked, with plenty of information along the way, and the scenery is simply breathtaking. If you haven’t seen the Bow River in person, you’re really missing out—it’s a must-see highlight of the area. We took a day trip to Jasper, including the Columbia Icefield—highly recommended! In hindsight, however, the drive back from Jasper felt very long and tiring, so next time I would definitely plan to stay overnight instead of returning the same day. Our itinerary also included excursions to Banff, which is conveniently close to Canmore. Exploring Banff’s attractions and hiking trails was easily manageable. We especially recommend the Johnston Canyon hike to the waterfalls. It’s an incredibly beautiful trail, not too strenuous, and definitely worth your time. On a rainy day, we tried an audio-guided driving tour and were genuinely impressed by how much we learned—it was both engaging and informative. A boat trip on Lake Minnewanka turned out to be well worth the cost as well. All in all, Canmore is an ideal base to explore the Canadian Rockies, offering plenty for both adventure seekers and those just looking to relax and enjoy the nature.Guest review byThomasGermany - 8.0
It is easy to get around Edmonton.
It is easy to get around Edmonton. I took a brief side trip to Edmonton mall. The mall itself is wearing out. It has lost it's appeal for anyone alone and looking for a shopping experience. It is lost in the eighties.Guest review byDonaldCanada - 8.0
We stayed one night.
We stayed one night. We ate at the friendly Whistle Stop Pub (good atmosphere and food, great staff). Next morning, ate at Mitty's (good food, friendly staff). Some nice shops to wander about in. Would have liked to stay there longer, but we had a fixed itinerary. Hoping to spend more time there on our next trip to Canada.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The hosts of Heathwood Inn were so friendly and helpful and gave us the most delicious breakfast. The rooms were beautiful and the furnishings suited the house and room. The electric fireplace made our room so warm and very pleasant to be in. The hosts thought of everything to make our stay perfect. As it is my birthday soon, they even presented me with a lovely bottle of wine to enjoy with my friends. I would love to go back soon, but Australia is a bit far away for that, but if I ever return, this B& B will be on top of my list.Guest review byMarian DaugelaCanada - 10.0
This isn't really a fair question.
This isn't really a fair question. Lethbridge was home to me for most of my life until I moved away 18 years ago. We came back to celebrate my 80th birthday with family and friends and spent the week visiting with so many of them. It really was coming home and I enjoyed every minute. I wholeheartedly recommend Lethbridge - there is lots to do even though we didn't really "do" much given the purpose of our visit. Paradise Canyon was a great home base for us.Guest review byLawrenceCanada
