Andorra is shopping heaven.
Andorra is shopping heaven. Yet make an effort to visit the old town, it is charming. Restaurants caters for all tastes and budgets. Carrefour supermarket has a self service restaurant attached, specialised in roasted chicken. Utterly delicious!! Parking is expensive but worth the cost for the saving you make on your shopping. I good base to have if you wish to go hiking. stunning views of the mountains in all directions.Guest review byHouallaFrance - 8.0

Beautiful Vielha in the Pyrenees is the perfect base for hiking/trail running. I visited as part of a trail race and the town itself is the perfect base with good links to other towns in the Val D'Aran area. It's picturesque and has all the local amenities needed like cafes, restaurants, sports shops and laundromat e.t.c. Local residents are friendly and welcoming.Guest review byDavid AlexanderUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We always stop overnight in Jaca whilst driving from Spain to the UK or visa versa as it is just off the motorway and has all the amenities you would need and is a lively, friendly place and the hotels are of a very high standard at a very good price.Guest review byTechno OrangeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

'Old' Ainsa is a relatively small but beautiful and interesting place. Our stay coincided with the end of their village festival, so there was plenty going on. On two nights we ate at a restaurant a couple doors down from the hotel, which specialised in pizzas but had many other options too - this was good, well-priced food, served very efficiently. We were based in Ainsa for quick access to the surrounding Pyrenees, and enjoyed two fabulous walks (Portal de la Cunarda and the Valle de Pineta). There's a large and cheap car park just outside the town walls (3 euros for 24hrs). There's also a very interesting bird of prey centre - museum and recovery centre - well worth a visit!Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely scenic location and very peaceful in the first half of June. Good restaurants though opening days were not always clear. Friendly staff. Good hiking facilities and not far from the Spanish border by car or bike! Petit Train ride was a little disappointing though.Guest review byJaneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I visited Benasque to compete in the Vuelta al Aneto trail race. The race started and ended in Benasque. Benasque is a great base for outdoor activities (hiking, trail running, mountain biking) with many shops providing gear and support for your adventures. My friends who visited with me are not into outdoor adventures, but enjoyed the beautiful town, restaurants and bars immensely.Guest review byAndrewAustralia - 10.0

Cauterets is lovely town in the middle of the Pyrenees with amazing views of the mountains. A good base if you like hiking or cycling. It has a market with lots of yummy food, bakeries, restaurants and other shops. There are quite a few hotels and lots of apartments, so a great summer destination.Guest review byjannaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Good ski domain and easy access to the slopes.
Good ski domain and easy access to the slopes. Well managed ski slopes and helpful welcoming people all around. The only issue is the noisy nature of the town with a lot of drunk people shouting at night. The smell of joints is also very common everywhere, including on the chair lifts, almost as common as in Amsterdam before the change of rules. This should be better managed as I had not noticed this when I came 8 years ago. Shopping is limited if you don’t want cigarettes, alcohol, make up. A lot less options than a few years ago. Found lots of good restaurants with a wide variety of food options at reasonable value. Overall, a good base for skiing but with compromises.Guest review bycarolineUnited Kingdom
