The location of The Counting House Hotel at 50 Cornhill in the City of London is great, and since it was an historic banking institution adds to the charm . It was an easy walking distance to the hotel from the Liverpool Train Station, and fairly close for us to walk to some of the sites we were interested in such as the Tower of London and St. Paul's Cathederal. When checking-in to a downtown hotel that is an independent operation, and not an international brand, you never know what to expect, however, when my wife and I stepped off the lift at the Reception Desk we were warmly greeted by two amazing ladies. Earlier that day we had driven from Scotland to Cambridge --first time driving on the left side :(0 !, where we turned in our rental car, then hopped a train to London-Liverpool Station and schlepped our bags to The Counting House. We were exhausted, especially having just finished a two week concert band tour in Germany, so when we saw the smiling, friendly faces of Egle and Lauryn we knew we would be taken care of and we were at "home" for a few days! The room was spotless and everything was perfectly clean--good job housekeepers. We can not say enough about all of the staff we interacted with, both in the hotel and the pub/restaurant. The bartenders were friendly and quick, the young blond lady (didn't get her name) who apparently is the bar and restaurant manager was friendly and efficient, the young lady who is the breakfast attendant each morning was friendly and helpful, and our server, Sydney, in the restaurant upstairs was not only friendly and spot on with her tasks, but her warm and hospitable manner caused my wife and I to return for dinner all three nights! The obvious theme here is Friendly and Efficient Staff. On our last night at The Counting House, we spoke to each staff member, in the hotel and the pub, to tell them good-bye and there was a definite feeling that we would be leaving friends.

We were mainly in London for the FOREVER NOW music festival.

We were mainly in London for the FOREVER NOW music festival. However, it being my first time there, I really enjoyed seeing the tourist sites like Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the London Eye, and Buckingham Palace. My favorite part of the trip was going to Borough Market. It was foodie heaven! Also, getting around London was relatively simple either by cab or the Underground, which was definitely the cheapest way to go. We stayed in three different hotels, and each one was very comfortable and clean. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of them again. Looking forward to coming back to London!

Very friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Food was good and reasonably priced, as were the drinks, given the hotel is so close to London. Excellent sports facilities, but unfortunately we didn't have time to make use of them as we were visiting the tennis championships at Wimbledon.

Brentford has been upgraded beyond recognition in the last...

Brentford has been upgraded beyond recognition in the last 10 years and especially in the last 5 years. It has become one of the very beautiful and upmarket locations along the River Thames and opposite the Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew - a world heritage site - and in the immediate proximity to famous Richmond and its historic palaces and cultural sites, picturesque town centre and equally famous RIchmond Park. Bearing in mind that this is less then half an hour away from the very centre of London, it is a really great location for a holiday, even a city-escape and offers more famous landscapes, River and green walks than probably any other borough in London. Yet it is much more tranquil than any place closer to London with a host of nice new restaurants and cafes.

    Marigold villa review August17-30 2023

Marigold villa review August17-30 2023 Our family of six including my 9 month grand daughter end up selecting your property, Marigold villa, Harrow, London since location was closer to our family, and Harrow train station despite having higher price of stay. Following is a glimpse of positive highlight Friendly quiet neighborhood Grocery shopping around the corner Train station walking distance Shopping mall, Harrow down town walking distance London attraction easily accessible short train ride Kingsbury restaurant, shopping easy Uber ride Pinner, wembly are easy Uber ride Practical large clean house 4 good size bedroom with 3.5 bath (modern) Large sun filled kitchen Parking spot for 2 cars I believe if following area get improve, then price of marigold villa may justify and gives a good home away from home feeling Kitchen island have a nook to sit but no bar stool available. Since dining table is way out in living space it is very impractical to use. If no bar stool available then dinette table with chair will add [link removed]the kitchen area Our stay of about 15 days no-clipping was done in Gardan. Entire backyard look very untidy Only 2 folding chair provided to sit outside If blender, and instapot is available, preparing meal for infant etc gets convenient Lot of spiders in outside area specially near entrance Summary overall we had enjoyable experience. Hope, Above information guide may help to attract more family guest like us. Thank you!

Plenty of eating options pubs and bars, shopping centres, open spaces eg. Parks etc, Tube station at the end of the Northern Line. Seems a friendly place people pass the time of day and speak to you in most places. Could have spent longer there, as it does have a lot of culture which I could have learnt more about. Can be a bit busier at peak times with traffic and school runs etc. but plenty of crossings on the main highway though.
