Looks a beautiful place but traffic really bad, barely moves. Also tried parking in a car park that stank of piss and after 20 minutes still couldn't get the ticket app to work so had to go elsewhere.Guest review byStevenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We regularly stay there because of its attractive seafront and coastal location and the attraction of nearby towns and cities (Topsham, Exeter, Sidmouth, Torquay, Paignton) and countryside (Haldon hills, Woodbury Common). An excellent holiday centre with activities for all weathers. Well served by buses and a rail connection. Good variety of restaurants and takeaway food outlets.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Hustle and bustle during the day around the harbour (a lot of day trippers from campsites nearby) quieter at night, only bug bear was the limited places to eat in the evening if you didn’t fancy pub grub or fish and chipsGuest review bymatthew - 10.0
Sidmouth is a great town whether the weather is good or bad.
Sidmouth is a great town whether the weather is good or bad. There are lifeguards on the beach and the prom is fantastic for a stroll. There are often events going on, but even when it is quiet all the shops are open and it feels lively without being incredibly busy. Everything is within walking distance. It is family friendly, but I visited as a lone adult and had a pleasantly relaxing time. The place feels safe and has a friendly vibe. I particularly enjoyed Connaught Gardens this time, as they are at their best in July I think. I did not visit Beer this time, as the road there makes me nervous, but I did go to the Donkey Sanctuary near Weston, because it is one of my most favourite places in the world. This is a great place to use as a base as there are lots of lovely places to visit in the surrounding area. I love it here.Guest review byKatherine - 10.0
Dartmouth is a classy destination.
Dartmouth is a classy destination. It's not too big but it still has a number of independent shops, cafes and pubs. The front has lots of seating areas and the harbour is very pleasant. There is a cinema and Marks and Spencer food hall which is handy if you don't want to cook. The walk to the castle is lovely and the views at the castle are out of this world. The floating bridge is worth visiting for food. Ferry and bus service are excellent. Places worth visiting in my opinion are Greenway (Agatha Christies house (National Trust)), Salcombe, Overbeck gardens (National Trust), Totnes and Blackpool sands. The beach at Blackpool sands is made of shale so it's worth taking a pair of beach shoes with you. Places to avoid at all costs are Torquay and Paignton.Guest review bymichelleUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lynton isn't the easiest place to drive to but well worth the effort. We avoided Porlock Hill (we have a very old car) and used the toll road. It costs £3 but the views are wonderful. Lynton itself has plenty of places to eat, a good Arts and Crafts Centre plus a second-hand community bookshop, as well as lots of other interesting shops. It's a lovely little town just to wander round and of course you have the cliff railway to take you down to Lynmouth.Guest review byjillUnited Kingdom - 8.0

As with many seaside towns in the UK, Barnstaple has seen better days. The high street is in decline, though there are some nice restaurants, Lush been one we visited twice with great sea food dishes. We used Barnstaple as a base to explore North Devon during the day and enjoyed our evening meals in the town.Guest review byPhil from UKUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Tiverton is a beautiful town with interesting and historic buildings. Great individual shops in the town and beautiful canel with horse drawn barge experience which was amazing. The town was dead after about 4pm. The crime and anti social behaviour seemed to be high compared to other Devon Towns but we did not witness anything too uncomfortable apart from a couple of very drunk people who were very loud.Guest review bySarah - 8.0
Lovely town some nice shops but quite expensive.
Lovely town some nice shops but quite expensive. Couple of nice pubs and several nice cafes. Worth the walk to south sands beach and the Winking Prawn cafe. Great quick, inexpensive ferry across bay to Fisherman's cove beach and coastal path .Traffic a nuisance. Can get very busy especially in school holidays.Guest review byBarbaraUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Bideford is a pleasant place.
Bideford is a pleasant place. It is very handy for the Thursday 7am ferry sailing across the Lundy Island for a day trip. Our recommended place to eat is "Le Petit Monde" restaurant, French theme, great fish dishes, delicious!Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom
