The view is stunning. I was shocked of how beautiful and cleaned this city is. You can enjoy cycling around the city under the quiet, historic and cultural atmosphere. At the famous landmarks, there was no scam or shoving, hustling, jostling. The goat meat in Ninh Binh is so delicious

Overall, the experience was very good. Trang An and Mua Cave were absolutely must-visit places—stunning and unforgettable. If there’s one small note, I found that prices around Tam Coc were a little higher compared to Trang An, but it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of the trip.

My visit to Ninh Binh was only to visit Cuc Phuong National Park and I caught the end of the butterfly migration which was an exceptional, never to be forgotten experience. The nearest ATM to Wyndham Grand is only a 5 minute drive away but it is advisiable to bring cash to pay taxi drivers, shops and the National Park entrance fee. Taxis are easy to arrange and fairly reasonably priced. It is common to agree a price for a round trip and often the driver will wait for you, sometimes for several hours.

Hoa Lu, the ancient capital is a great place to visit, pls book the tour guide who can help you to understand the place, pls spend time for walking around, even climd up the mountain to see the whole landscape. We did have a great time and we enjoyed it a lot. Thung Nham is another place worth visiting, especially at 5pm when all the birds are flying back home, it is fantastic view to see and enjoy Night market with long walk along the river is another great experiences. The food, the people and the landscape of Ninh Binh: wonderful!

Ninh Binh was the best surprise of our entire trip to Vietnam. It has everything—breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural sites, and an incredibly smooth travel infrastructure that made getting around a breeze. Trang An, in particular, offers the perfect mix of nature and heritage—it truly captures the magic of the region. This area is an absolute must on any Vietnam itinerary. Honestly, it’s so impressive that there should be a direct international flight here to skip Hanoi altogether!

Spend some time here exploring and enjoying the serenity , fun activities, interesting history and lovely food, especially the local goat dishes. a little cocktail bar in Trang an on the lake called Ume has great cocktails and happy 2 hours 4 to 6pm. Perfect for people watching 😋
