This was one of those rare experiences - a chic, relaxed, international hotel that was distinctly local in atmosphere. For example, there is a small bar-café in the lobby that is open all the time where you can get lots of local Mexican food and beverages at no cost if you are staying there - with the exception of alcoholic drinks which are available for a small charge. The room we had overlooked the street with two small Juliette balconies. The room had very high ceilings, a very comfortable bed, a refrigerator stocked with drinks and a very clean bathroom en suite. There were comfortable sitting areas on our floor and in the extensive lobby. The breakfasts were excellent - where we sat next to a living wall of plants. The hotel is located in the historical central district where we could visit the political activities in the Zocalo nearby, the national art gallery, many other local sites, and also find connections to transit for tours. The streets are lively. The restaurants in the area are great with a wide range of styles, foods, and prices. The people in the hotel are very friendly and very helpful. The local people we met in that district of Mexico City were very kind and helpful to us. This was a great place to stay

Amazing place, can only say beautiful words on the hotel. We could drop our items in the morning already as we arrived super early. Then, an early check-in was allowed which was so great, as we did barely sleep during our travel night. My Mexican friend sent a gift for me to the hotel, they saved it professionally and gave it to me at my arrival. Furthermore, the hotel gave us a slightly later check-out which was super valuable, as we traveled later that day. The flexibility and friendly help of the staff is what I remember most of this hotel. It was Sunday-Monday so probably there are some more possibilities than on a Friday or Saturday obviously, but we appreciated this a lot! Besides, the hotel itself is great. Wonderful lobby and elevators, nice pool and even a Starbucks in the hotel ! Beds are great, and the location amazing. Thank you so much!

Fascinating and beautiful and free to seniors.

Fascinating and beautiful and free to seniors. The exterior and interior an amazing and fascinating contrast. Loved the murals especially - with the strong connection to Mexican politics and history - and American in the instance of the New YoRockefeller institute rejected/destroyed mural which Rivera repeated here..

Such an amazing and stunning example of glorious old world opulence. My second time to CDMX and have not been able to get tickets to an event here. Next time I come back to CDMX I will schedule it around a performance here. But just a tour around the building is great.

    An amazingly beautiful building.

An amazingly beautiful building. I don't know why they hang a tattered banner over the main entrance of such a majestic hall. It is an interesting location to sit and people watch and right next to Mexico City's oldest park. The palacio is featured with other Mexico City highlights in the opening of the OneRepublic music video for their song Kids.
