Close House, a property with a bar, is located in Heddon on the Wall, 15 km from MetroCentre, 16 km from Theatre Royal, as well as 17 km from St James' Park. Terrific staff, and a beautifully appointed room. The bed was exceedingly comfortable and the bathroom was enormous. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant, and breakfast was excellent.

This stunning mansion set in 4 acres of award-winning gardens is situated on the edge of the Northumbrian countryside, yet only 10 minutes' drive from the Newcastle city centre. I have had the fortune to be a guest with David and Mark previously. It is always a pleasure and exceeded my expectations in all ways. They are fabulous hosts, and iI am saddened a little more to leave every time. The house is a treasure trove of sights it is exquisite and exactly what is needed for a little but of a country escape near the city. I look forward to staying with them again as always.
