A 7-minute walk from the town, High Tor Hotel in Matlock offers boutique-style accommodation within 5 minutes’ drive of the Peak District National Park. There is a restaurant, free parking and Wi-Fi at this Derbyshire hotel. Individually designed guest rooms feature a flat-screen TV and tea and coffee facilities, and many have beds with luxurious hand-stitched silk mattresses. All have stylish en suite facilities with bath or shower. The High Tor Hotel offers cooked and continental breakfast at a surcharge. Matlock is around 9 miles south of Bakewell, and Chatsworth House. The spa town of Buxton is 35 minutes’ drive away, and the city centres of Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby can all be reached in 30-40 minutes.
