Goodramgate Apartments is a family-run business in York that takes pride in its notable reputation. We have been operating in York for nearly 20 years. Offering 24 modern, self catering apartments in Grade II listed buildings including a Victorian townhouse, all wonderfully situated by two of York’s most historical landmarks, Monk Bar and Clifford’s Tower. Please contact us directly if you would like to know which apartments are in each location. Our central location allows you to immerse yourself in all the historic sites, local independent shops and culinary delights York has to offer. The city is easily explored on foot from all our apartments. Tourist attractions, shops and restaurants are all close by and accessible. Bennett House, our Grade II Victorian townhouse, is located in an idyllic location in the city centre alongside the River Ouse. This large comfortable English home makes it the perfect place to host an event with family and friends as a group. Furnished and decorated with classic, contemporary interiors, our self catering apartments ensure you have a cozy and comfortable stay with us. Sleep soundly in our king sized beds with Egyptian cotton linen. Kitchens are fully equipped with oven, hob, refrigerator and microwave. Our living areas are equipped with wireless internet and smart TVs. Bathrooms are fitted with walk-in showers and no need to worry, bath towels and toiletries are provided free of charge. Take advantage of our Minster Studio, Bootham Suite, Tower Mews and Turpins Loft, which all have access to their very own private outdoor areas. Our friendly and approachable reception team are available 7 days a week from 9am to 6pm. Should you require any assistance outside of these hours, you will find our 24-hour Out of Hours Emergency helpline number inside your guest information book. Reservation Payment Terms: Please be aware payment is processed for all reservations at the time of the booking being created. A damage deposit will be required on the day of arrival and the amount of this is based on the apartment booked with us.

Goodramgate Apartments is a small self-catering apartment business which has been open since 2004. Based in an ideal location right next to Monkbar, we pride ourselves on our customer service, our 170 year old Grade II listed apartments, and our competitive prices.

Property information

We have 21 unique, well-appointed, self-catering properties, over 3 locations, all in the centre of York. **Monk Bar** – We have 14 apartments at this location; directly next to the historic Bar, with access to the Medieval Walls. York Minster is just a couple of minutes' walk away, providing guests with the perfect base from which to explore the city. **York House** - We have 6 newly renovated luxury suites in this Grade II listed building on Clifford Street, near to the River Ouse, just a stone's throw away from Clifford's Tower. These consist of Lendal Suite, Turpin's Loft, Tower Mews, St Mary's Keep, Friar's Fold and Hadrian's Den. **Bennett House** – Our large Grade II listed holiday home is located on Peckitt Street, between the river and Clifford’s Tower. It is perfect for large groups of up to 16 people, families and hen parties searching for that perfect character property with a central location. Our small, friendly team will ensure your room has fresh linen and toiletries, and will happily cater for special requests such as birthdays and anniversaries. Please note, our properties are Grade II listed and most of which are unsuitable for guests with mobility issues.

Neighbourhood information

14 of our apartments are located at Monk Bar, the largest and most ornate of the entrances to York. Part of the Minster Quarter, with majestic York Minster at its core and medieval walls around its border, it is an area rich in architecture and steeped in history. Public parking is available at Monk Bar (YO31 7QR). 6 more suites are located in York House, 15 Clifford Street; a majestic building which has been meticulously renovated to an excellent standard. The interior is magnificent and offers guests everything they could possibly need for a relaxing city break. We also have Bennett House, a Grade II listed holiday home, located on Peckitt Street, just by the river Ouse. York train station is just under 15 minutes’ walk from Bennett House and our Clifford Street apartments. Alternatively, St George’s Field car park is a scenic 5-minute walk through Tower Gardens. All our properties are centrally located, with shops, boutiques, ancient churches, modern and traditional pubs, cafes and restaurants at our doorsteps. Guests regularly comment on the convenience of our location, and accept that, as hosts, we cannot take responsibility for noise levels outside of our properties.

    Reception Opening Hours:

    Our Reception closes at 6pm UK Time (18.00). Checking in after 6pm is possible if the preauthorisation damage deposit is paid prior to 6pm on the day of arrival. Check in after 6pm will be via self check in key box entry. Guests arriving after this 6pm will need to prearrange this self check in and will be messaged prior to their arrival with codes and instructions for key box access. We kindly ask that guests arriving after 11pm (23.00) do so quietly as the properties are located in residential areas.

    Car Parking :

    We recommend local car parking on your booking confirmation depending on where your apartment in located. Parking is possible in local privately owned car parks, parking is not free of charge and is subject to change due to public car park price fluctuations. Please note that this property can only accommodate stag or hen parties with prior arrangement.

    Luggage Storage:

    The property is able to store luggage after departure for an additional cost at our reception at Monkbar, YO31 7HB. If you would like to arrange this please call our reception. Our reception is located at 1 Lord Mayor's Walk, YO31 7HB.

    Damage Deposit :

    A pre authorisation damage deposit is required on arrival. This will be collected by credit or debit card and should be released shortly after check-out subject to a satisfactory inspection of the property.

    Apartment Building Information:

    Please note the buildings are Grade II listed and over a hundred years old. Some rooms have slightly uneven floors and steep staircases - guests with mobility issues or those travelling with young children should take note of this. Friendly staff are happy to help with luggage if this is an issue.
