Peachy City of Historic Importance
Home to the world’s busiest airport and a vibrant arts scene, Atlanta has an important role in US history. The gateway to the American South, it's home to barbecue and hundreds of peach trees that make it a surprisingly green city.
Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is the main arrival point, and Booking.com has an excellent range of Atlanta hotels near the airport. However, the main sights are clustered around Downtown. Near the gold-domed Georgia State Capitol is Underground Atlanta, a shopping center at the former downtown street level.
Just north are a few hotels near Georgia Dome, a huge sports venue, and to its northeast is Centennial Olympic Park, commemorating the 1996 Olympic Games. On one edge of this park are the CNN headquarters with behind-the-scenes tours. Across the street is the New World of Coca-Cola where you can sample all their worldwide products. Next door is the massive Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest indoor aquarium.
In the Auburn district is Martin Luther King, Jr.’s former home and church, and a museum dedicated to him and the Civil Rights movement. A few blocks south in Grant Park is the city zoo, and the Atlanta Cyclorama and museum, detailing the city’s Civil War battles.
More national history is in the Carter Center, and the former home of Margaret Mitchell, author of "Gone with the Wind.

The Ponce City Market great place to eat.
The Ponce City Market great place to eat. The Bellina Alimentari Restaurant an Italian place great food. The roof top their was very nice as well. All of these places are in the Ponce City Market. My husband and I visit a nice laid back R&B Club called Rock Steady. Everyone was oh so nice and welcoming. Never go to the ATL without visiting the Skyline Park Ferris wheel (Amazing). We also went to eat at Red Rice for those of you who like Soul Food and to end the night, we visit the Atlantic Station for a late night movie. Being we are not from ATL, we used Uber and Uber Eats. Loved them, their service was Great!!!! Every placed mentioned above is no more than 3-14 minutes away if you stay Downtown Atlanta. Our overall stay was Extremely Wonderful!!! I'm more of a rural person; grew up in the country. Atlanta traffic is tough if you're not accustomed to the area and their fast pace. The city itself is beautiful and has a lot to offer. The last time I was in Atlanta was almost 15 years ago. The food scene has much to offer, there is a vibrancy to the city that had not existed, the MART (city transit train) was much better than I was expecting (although there are some sketch people hanging around the stations), many vineyards and beautiful country side/towns (such as Dahlonega) within an easy drive. Although most tourists visit the Coca Cola Museum and the fabulous aquarium, not sure how many know about the Atlanta Botantical Gardens. If you have not been and you enjoy gardens, it is an absolutely delightful place to visit...especially on a Thursday when they have music starting at 5PM. Had a wonderful dinner at their restaurant, too. Was so pleasantly surprised by how much Atlanta has to offer!Guest review byLesleyUnited States

Hairs on bathroom ceiling and in the toiletries tray behind the washcloths. Bedding smelled like smoke. We didn’t feel clean the whole stay. Elevator out order. Drink machine out of order. I didn't get a chance to, but I think you could also walk to the Cumberland Mall which has everything you'd be looking for in a mall if you didn't want to go all the way to Atlanta.
