Nice location - quiet and very near the airport. Free shuttle to/from airport. We asked for a room with a step-in shower due to mobility issues but ended up with a tub shower. It was a low-rise tub, so my wife did o.k. with assistance. Breakfast was about average for budget hotels that include a free breakfast.

Anchorage is a good 'launch pad' onto other spots in Alaska.

Anchorage is a good 'launch pad' onto other spots in Alaska. Make sure to do the coastal bike trail - we saw 2 mum Moose with their calves, very special. The drive from there south toward Girdwood is fabulous.

We particularly enjoyed the City tour by bus which took us through neighbourhoods of Anchorage and past the amazing float plane moorings with its remarkable collection of planes. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. The tour to the Alaskan Native Heritage Centre was very worthwhile, with its guided tour of the many "tribal" houses and compounds being enlightening. The various cultural demonstrations in the modern centre were of great interest, especially the demonstration of dancing and sporting activities. It was a pity we did not have more time there to visit more of the museum exhibits. A great surprise was the extent of the Anchorage Museum! The Museum had an extensive exhibit dedicated to the history of the DEW (Distant Early Warning) Line set up in the 1950's and the way in which politics and culture combined to counter the impact of communist ideology (including several pieces by Jackson Pollock and Marc Rothko to demonstrate the "enlightenment" of American art over the rigidity of the USSR. Other galleries showed the history and development of Alaskan art. Another gallery showed works by young artists. A bonus "find"'

    Anchorage is beautiful.

Anchorage is beautiful. Mountains and water everywhere you look. There is so much to do within just a few miles of the city. I went grizzly watching at Katmai and hiking in the Chugach range in just two days. Next time I go I’m taking the famous Alaska railroad up to Denali. Great food; great people! Alaska is magic!

I chose to stay in lesser cost hotels for 2 different parts of my trip. Anchorage was the jumping-off point for my 10-day vacation: 2 nights to begin, then took The Alaska Railroad train to Fairbanks for 2 nights. Then, back to Anchorage for 2 nights, then took the train to Seward for 2 nights, then back to Anchorage. I didn't rent a car, but walked all over downtown Anchorage and Fairbanks and Seward. Ate some AMAZING meals in all 3 cities!!!!! Saw some GORGEOUS landscapes and BEAUTIFUL wildlife!!!! (I didn't get to see any bears, but the Moose, Bald Eagles, Dall Sheep and Trumpeter Swans were AWESOME!!!) Met some very nice people, both local to each location, and sweet visitors. It is almost like people are relaxed while in Alaska! Not a SINGLE mosquito or fly to bother me!!! Temperatures were in the mid-40's to low-70's, this was from June 4-13, 2025. There was a little drizzle for a few of the first days of my trip, GORGEOUS blue clear skies the rest! Not quite 24hrs of sun, more like 21-22hrs! But, it didn't bother my sleep - every hotel has black-out curtains to help us sleep. VERY MUCH recommend taking a soothing trip to the Last Frontier - Alaska!!!!

Great city, easy to get around and everything you need.

Great city, easy to get around and everything you need. It’s a bit pricey though. Expect to Pay $5.00 for 1/2 gal. Of milk. They have to import so much and that’s expensive. Nice friendly people! I just got back and there was lots of rain and clouds but the pictures came out ok.

This was an exceptional place for me to stay. The host was awesome and very accommodating. Quickly answered all of my questions that I had and provided recommendations for my visit to the Anchorage area. I had just completed a motorcycle trip across Canada and into Alaska visiting several places. My accommodations were varied over the last 11 days, but this was my favorite! I was in a neighborhood, just like home! Clean and very comfortable, felt just like at home. Thanks again for making my stay pleasant.

Good and clean apartment not far from Anchorage international airport. We arrived near 10 PM. and entered the wrong building but can use the pin code from the owner to enter the main door but not the apartment door since there is no keypad and I contacted with the owner and found that we got the wrong building nearby. After that everything was fine , the room had 2 bedroom , one kitchen , one bathroom and also living space. I will recommend for the family with 3-4 members.

One of the cheaper hotels in a rather over-priced city. Not as a bad a location as some other reviewers would suggest (Anchorage may be over-rated and over-priced but its centre is not that big, so it wasn't far from anywhere else - though the trains were quite loud).
