There are some gems in Reykjavik but overall I was disappointed with the quality of the town. Much of the paving and roads were more like the outskirts of towns in Eastern Europe or England rather than a rich country. Aesthetically not pleasing. It is extremely expensive for the quality of accommodation. Very low standard for very high costs. Hostels are the best option. Reykjavik is a very interesting town and it is easy to get around by foot. It was cool that the sun didn't set till midnight and then rose again at 3:30 . But don';t wait too long to fimd a place for dinner . 9:30 doesn;t seem late as it is still light out but the restaurants all close just before 10:00 PM. It is best to rent a car so that you can see the sites close by and at your own leisure .Guest review bystar123Canada
