I have been unable to set a Gmail email account on two of my computers, having succeeded initially on my main one. All proceeds well until I get to the point of connecting to the account and get a code 400 error message from Google. This has happened repeatedly over a week, on two separate Macs, one running Ventura 13.7.5 with Thunderbird 141.0 and the other Monterey 12.7.6 and 140.0.1. However, I can set the account up using Apple Mail on both machines! I run Integro antivirus on all machines. I have been through the process of clearing cookies, restarting etc a number of times. It seems there is a conflict somewhere between Thunderbird and Google. I much prefer Thunderbird so please help!

I am trying to import a ics file into thunderbird. If I specify a local calendar as the destination calendar, the import works. However, if I specify a caldav-connected calendar as the destination, the import starts but never completes, and I always see an import status of 0%. I have tried importing into calendars from different caldav providers, but in all cases, the import fails. I would greatly appreciate your feedback. For me, this import is a convenient way to semi-automatically populate a web calendar.

Hi, I am working as a freelance translator and get notifications about work from different platforms. But a few days ago I noticed that I am not receiving them anymore.

I have added those addresses to my whitelist from my provider, but the issue is still there. If you have suggestion to what the cause of this could be, I would be very happy because this is causing me to loose jobs. The addresses that are affected is: notifications@lilt.com noreply@em.lilt.com notifications@fluently.s.xtrf.eu services@lilt.com I think also all that starts with notifications@ is affected.

Please is it possible to set a Global column order in emails? I would like the order of columns to be- attachment -present, Received -date, From-email address, Subject. And this to be for all email accounts I have setup (about 10) and all their children sub folders. So that is a lot of folders! I can see you can set it for one email address. And note certain updates have reset the order. The most important is the date at the left.

I recently transferred my Thunderbird account to a new PC and have been getting a pop-up to enter credentials for a google account every 10 minutes or so. After the pop-up is opened (sometimes in the background), no new mail will be fetched until the pop-up is closed, this is frustrating as I sometimes don't notice the pop-up so seems like I am not getting emails. The pop-up is for Google account, but my mail accounts is from MS Outlook, I don't use Thunderbird for any Gmail and I don't think this Thunderbird profile is associated in any way with my personal Google account.

This is a work computer, so not associated with my personal accounts. I dont want to put my personal Google login here and I don't know how to stop the pop-up.

The transfer was done by copying my profiles folder to the new PC, then installing Thunderbird and creating a new profile, and pointing to the profiles folder. I've had the same profiles folder for 10-15 years or more and not seen this before.

I have set up a Microsoft 365 account in Thunderbird for sending and receiving emails. Suddenly, new emails cannot be received in Thunderbird. Even when trying to send/receive manually, new emails are not received. No errors are displayed. When logging into email via the web (Outlook), I can confirm the new emails. Microsoft confirmed that the underlying cause is due to the UIDL map and UIDL history not updating correctly. Reinstalling the Thunderbird app did not resolve the issue. Could you please advise on a solution?

I have been using Thunderbird for some time now and i like it. BUT, the setting of a constant font size, fixed/variable width and Body Text/Paragraph is imo irrational, verging on stupid.

All of the above change at random while typing an email. Mindful this is a free email client for which i am thankful, what sadist developer(s) thought not having a simple procedure to set font, font size and format, like any other email client i have used, is not a sensible thing to do.

I am of the understanding that Thunderbird is influenced by the settings the receiver uses or the settings of the senders email. I don't care what settings they have or use. If they don't like the looks of my email, bad luck. All i want to do is type an email as efficiently as possible and send it. I sometimes spend more time changing back the format of the text i type than typing the content.

I have read solutions such as typing the email in notepad and then pasting it into Thunderbird. Really ! OMG

Looking for help on the www, the so called fixes are so old, the instructions are either not relevant or difficult to follow as the current Thunderbird has changed and things are different places and/or named differently. All this smack of Microsoft mentality where i am convinced things are changed for the sake of change or (cynically on my part) to mess with users.

Maybe Thunderbird can have 2 methods of setting up fonts, sizing etc etc. One a simple 'normal' way like other email clients, and the other as it currently is to accommodate what ever idealistic vision they have.

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing a strange issue with my company's email account in Thunderbird.

All of my other email accounts (like Gmail, etc.) are working perfectly and receive new mail without any issues. However, my company email account will not receive new emails automatically.

The only way to get new emails for this specific account is to completely close and restart Thunderbird. As soon as I restart the application, all the new messages for that account download immediately.

Simply clicking the "Get Messages" button or waiting for the automatic check interval does not work for this one account. It seems like the connection or the auto-sync feature is failing only for my company account after the initial startup.

Here are some details:

  • Thunderbird Version: 141
  • Operating System: Windows 11 24H2 (26100.4656)
  • Account Type: It's an IMAP account.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions on what settings I could check to resolve this selective sync failure would be greatly appreciated.

After the update to version 140 my folders ended up in a strange order as follows: number i number i a numbers b c d e f g h g h d e f a g h i p number trash a i m n c d g o p j l m p m p s j l m n y o p q r s t u v w x I managed to manually move the inbox and sent folders up to the top but if I reorder manually for the rest, how do I know they'll stay that way? Thunderbird v 141.0 64 bit on Windows 11 Hope you can help. I have my main Thunderbird calendar synced with a Google calendar. When I created the sync, the Thunderbird calendar was populated with all the events in the Google Calendar. When I created a new event in the Google Calendar, it appeared in the Thunderbird calendar. When I deleted a recurring event (that originally created in the Google calendar) from the Thunderbird calendar, it was deleted in the Google calendar. All good! But I have created multiple events in the Thunderbird calendar, but they are not appearing in the Google calendar.

I was thinking that if I mark it as junk, they get deleted immediately and I don't have to keep going over them, and seeing them, but now with that Thunderbird thinks this is junk banner. But I already marked those as junk many times. Why do they keep coming back like that?
