I cannot click on any drop downs or shopping results on Google searches. It's been at least a week, but I've seen no one else mention having this same problem. Google searches are basically pointless now. Using a different browser fixes the issue, so I at least have figured out it's the app, but what a ridiculous development for Google to neuter itself with whatever update caused this.

I updated phone to Pixel 9. Now chrome often freezes when the page downloads. Reloading doesn't help, reload button doesn't even work. it just keeps showing an X to stop loading the page, except it doesn't work. Seems to happen on almost every other page load. Makes Chrome almost unusable. "Suggestions" from developer do not help. Clearing the cache and pausing and unpausing the app seem to be the only thing that work and even then not always.

Fast, Reliable, and Packed with Features Google Chrome is hands down one of the best web browsers available. It’s incredibly fast, secure, and easy to use. Pages load quickly, and the simple, clean interface makes browsing smooth and enjoyable. One of my favorite features is how well it syncs across devices — I can start browsing on my phone and pick up right where I left off on my laptop. The built-in Google search, password manager, and autofill features save so much time.
