Integrate Dailybot With Jira 

To integrate Dailybot with Jira, click on the Settings wheel -> API & Integrations -> Jira

Click on Connect Jira on the top right corner, you will be taken to the OAuth screen.

Click Accept and your Jira should be connected to Dailybot!

Now, select a Jira Workspace and the Jira boards you with to connect with Dailybot.

It's that simple! Now you can utilize DailyBot to use Jira from chat.

If you're an admin you can see the status of who has completed their Jira integration and remind them to integrate. It's important that everyone finishes their OAuth so that updates and comments are posted with each member's name.

Using the Jira Integration

With the Jira integration you can not only keep track of updates from Jira in your Check-ins, but you can also manage your Jira tasks right from your chat using natural language.

Dailybot will understand the following intents:

REMEMBER: You can use natural language for these intents, Dailybot should understand any wording and manner of speak you utilize as long as the intent is clear. These examples are mere guidelines on how to use the intents, and not meant to be followed strictly.

Note: Right now it's better to use the task number i.e TQ-4 rather than the name. We are working on improvements so that both are supported without errors!

Update Status

You can update the status of any task assigned to you in your Jira board, try telling Dailybot inputs like "Change the status of TQ-3 to To Do" or "Can you set TQ-3 to Completed?" and Dailybot will promptly mark this task as done in Jira.

Note: Right now we only support To-do, In progress and Done status. If the Jira board has more statuses Dailybot will interpret the first column as To-do, middle as In progress and the rightmost column as Done.

Update Due Date

You can change the due date of any task with DailyBot. Try with inputs like "Push the deadline of TQ-4 to the end of the month" or "Can you move the due date of TQ-3 to tomorrow?"

Remember: You can only comment and update tasks that are assigned to you.

Tickets Summary

You can get a summary of individual tickets or all tickets assigned to you in your chat with Dailybot. Try using inputs like "How’s the status for ticket TQ-8" to get an update on an individual ticket or an input like "What are my tasks?"

Add Comments

 
You can add comments on your Jira tasks with Dailybot, try inputs like "Add a comment to TQ-2 saying I’ve finished the integration." or "Dailybot, I need you to comment on DEV-789 that it’s pending review."
