hmm when you simply delete an installation windows tends to hang onto associations. For me it is not usually a problem as I can kill this sandbox and start a fresh one. But when I have been in the same situation then the best solution is to back up both and uninstall both then install just the one and hope windows plays cleanup well. when the new install is behaving then you should be able to replace the settings file from the backup and get back all your history etc. Otherwise if you still have 2 icons then it gets very messy trawling the registry or using a 3rd party cleaner |

sorry for delay but in the version you wish to keep when you call advanced options and use the save AS option it should be showing you that folder so for example in my case Settings > Advanced Options opens the
SumatraPDF-settings.txtfile in notepad and going top left to File > "Save As" in my current case it shows it is a work in progress folder C:\Users\WDAGUtilityAccount\Desktop\Apps\Programming\HMG\SumatraPDF_3.6Whereas normally it may be either where the exe is or the user applications folder so ideally before uninstall save that setting file any where else such as desktop.
Thus easy to find after uninstalling then you can replace the new settings.txt with that protected one from y…
