Well, it will be merged (directly) before the next Nerd Font release.

If we would merge now the information about the version would not represent the version used in the current release which is misleading.
On a release all fonts are checked and updated (unless I forget it ;-) ).

Naturally this leads to the question when will be the next NF release.

I just came back from a 6 week vacation, now I need to work the pile down from my day work, and then I can (re)start on Nerd Fonts, and before a release we need for example to decide on update-or-not Font Awesome. I just started (low priority) evaluation of the added/changed icons in FA. Because a new release should use the updated FA, if we switch.

So usually a new release starts with bug fixes, then icon set updates, and only then near release time are the unpatched-fonts updated to keep all in sync.

Thank you for the quick and detailed reply it makes total sense, I just noticed the version mismatch as I downloaded it and checked issues/PRs on both (0xProto & here) repos, saw this PR from May and bumped it : I hope I didn't came off as "hey get this done quickly" or something 😬
