Example for illustration

Symbol = (all parameters are default)

actualBoundingBoxAscent = 12 
actualBoundingBoxDescent = -4
glyphTop = 12
glyphHeight = 8

After the line
imgData = ctx.getImageData(...)

imgData.data contains pixels:
