Description

This PR resolves a TODO by modifying error handling.
Instead of abruptly stopping execution with a panic, the function now returns an error where applicable, allowing proper error handling.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The update modifies the UnbondTimestamp method in the API to prevent panics when an error occurs during timestamp retrieval. The method now returns a tuple consisting of a uint64 and an error, allowing for graceful error handling. The method signature has been updated from returning only a uint64 to returning (uint64, error).

Changes

File(s) Summary
x/move/keeper/api.go Modified UnbondTimestamp method to return (uint64, error) instead of panicking on error. Changed error handling to return zero value and error.

Poem

I'm a rabbit, leaping through the code,
No more panics on the road.
When errors tap at the door,
I return zeros without a roar.
Hopping happily, I say hooray—
Changes made for a smoother day!

95-95: Method signature properly updated to return an error

The change to return an error type along with the uint64 timestamp aligns with Go's error handling patterns and allows callers to handle errors gracefully rather than encountering panics.

98-100: Good error handling approach

Returning a zero value with the error is the appropriate pattern when an operation fails. This replaces the previous implementation that would panic, providing better error handling for callers.

102-103: Proper return implementation

The successful return now correctly includes both the calculated unbonding timestamp and a nil error value, completing the method's new signature requirements.

21-21:

❓ Verification inconclusive

Verify interface compatibility after signature change

The method signature change for UnbondTimestamp() may require updating the vmapi.GoAPI interface definition as well.

🏁 Script executed:

#!/bin/bash
# Find the interface definition to verify if it needs to be updated
rg -A 5 "type GoAPI interface" --glob "**/*.go"

Length of output: 49

Action: Verify Interface Compatibility for UnbondTimestamp()

The automated search for the GoAPI interface definition didn’t return any results, so we couldn’t confirm whether the method signature change for UnbondTimestamp() is reflected in the interface. Please manually verify the definition of vmapi.GoAPI (likely in the vmapi package) to ensure that its declaration matches the updated signature.

Key points:

  • Confirm that the interface declaration for GoAPI (if present) includes the updated signature for UnbondTimestamp().
  • Double-check that the type assertion in x/move/keeper/api.go (var _ vmapi.GoAPI = &GoApi{}) is still valid.
