Q:

Hi, I used eclipse CDT to create a new hello world arm qemu project in windows11, and after the creation was completed, I executed build in the project and reported an error.

My question is why there is such a path: E:\xx\workspace\helloworld-a15-qemu\Debug/C:/Users/xx/AppData/Roaming/xPacks/@xpack-dev-tools/arm-none-eabi-gcc/11.2.1-1.2.2/.content/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc.exe

Are you sure you are using the very latest xpm?

This indeed is a problem, the path is messed. The problem is not related to the toolchain or xpm, but to Eclipse.

Please update Eclipse to the latest version of the plug-ins (6.4.0) and retry, by creating a new workspace, and re-creating the project from the template.

I may have phrased it wrong before, executing xpm run is fine, I'll update eclipse and try again.

Does plug-ins refer to cdt? I checked the version of cdt, it is 6.4.0.

That's correct, Embedded CDT 6.4.0. Does the build pass?

I originally build with the CDT 6.4 version but failed.

I found that the reason for the problem is that the project created was c project instead of the c++ project, and the compilation works well after recreating the c++ project. I'm not sure if this is a bug in the plugin itself.
In addition, if I create a project for the A72 processor, there will be problems when compiling but project for a15 works well.

Your message is quite confusing. The xpm template includes tests that create all possible configurations and the chances of having bugs are slim. I suggest you create the project manually, in a terminal, and build it via xpm run. If it passes, the template and the toolchains should be ok. You can also run the tests yourself, with xpm run test-all.

If you think you identified issues with the plug-ins, please enter a new topic in the plug-ins discussions, and be sure you provide the details for reproducing the issues.

Thank you for your reply. The commands corresponding to xpm run can run correctly. what I wanted is to get rid of the command line tool as much as possible and configure a simple development environment based on eclipse. I need to learn more about plug-ins.

In addition, I want to run the linux system on qemu, and whether it is possible to debug the application program through remote debugging with eclipse.
