Pokémon Myth Crystal (v1.2.0)
This release marks the beginning of the rebranding of this fork of Polished Crystal. Instead of just being an addon, this will become its own thing. It will be renamed: "Pokémon Myth Crystal", the Myth in the name indicating the two classic Gen 2 creepypastas that are represented in the ROM Hack.
And in relations to the rebranding, there might be a few changes to some teams in the future, primarily the gym leaders. Don't count on it too much, since the gym leader teams in PC are already really good in my opinion. I might also do a few changes to wild encounters, like adding the Johto and/or Kanto starters in the wild. Therefore making the other two Johto starters that you didn't pick and the Kanto starters available before the post-game.
But that's for the future. For now, this will still just be an addon, but the rebranding will be complete soon.
Now, as for what this release brings:
- A new floor in the unused Soul House Basement containing a certain someone's grave.
- A brand new boss trainer to fight. Maybe check the grave?
- An alternate form for Celebi that's obtained after beating the new boss trainer.
Hope you enjoy!
Unown King Addon (v1.1)
This addon has been updated, fixing and adding some stuff.
- Yet another extra event that tells the lore of the Unown King (or, well, my take on the lore).
- Fixed some issues with the custom event.
- Fixed some of the bonus tracks to make them sound much better.
- An unused alternate form for the Unown King referencing his original design from the creepypasta added in as a bonus.
This release has the GBC file instead of an xdelta patch.
Unown King Addon (v1.0)
This is the initial release of the Unown King addon.
This release adds:
- Custom Unown King event (unlocked after beating Red once)
- Extra event in the Ruins of Alph research building after catching the Unown King
- 5 extra tracks added as a bonus.
The patch requires a clean ROM of Pokémon Crystal. You can easily build one with the Poke Crystal disassembly's source code.
Known Issues:
-The game sometimes softlocks when a trainer asks to add them on the PokeGear contacts.
-The game also sometimes softlocks when a trainer calls you. (This is kind of resolved by removing all trainers from the PokeGear contacts, except for the important contacts like Lyra and Prof. Elm.)
- Due to limitations, Berserk Chomp replaces Splash. Meaning that every instance where Splash is used is replaced with Struggle. This may be changed so Berserk Chomp has its own slot, but don't count on it.
