Is it possible to deep link to install an admin UI extension like it is with theme app extension?

Hi William, we don’t currently support deep linking with in the Admin UI extensions. Can you give me a bit more context about what you are trying to accomplish? Potentially there is another way or if not I can pass it on to that group as a feature recommendation.

With theme app extensions/blocks, we can generate a url that opens the customizer, adds a new block, then the customer can configure/adjust/move

The same would be nice with admin ui extension, e.g. generate a url that opens a product page, and adds the admin ui extension for an app

Thank you William. There isn’t currently another approach to accomplish this. I’ve gone ahead and passed on this use case to the team.

+1 from me on this too. Would be great to create a link to allow the merchant to just add this.

Do you maybe have a link where I can find some documentation on doing this for Theme Extension? I can’t find anything about this :confused:

+1 to this, it would improve the onboarding experience for merchants using apps that have Checkout UI extensions :slight_smile:

I think deep links are available only for theme extensions: Theme app extension configuration

Making them available for all the extension would be very handy!

+1 to this - merchants are still highly confused by admin ui blocks - deep-links would be a great way to educate

+1 on this - multiple merchants get lost with this concept even with documentation. A deep link would help a lot.

I have an Admin Block that allows users to set product volume prices. I constantly need to educate merchants about what an app block actually is, and how to add it to the product/variant screens.

It’d be amazing if I could setup a deeplink to the admin block and check if it’s been pinned, in a similar way that we can deeplink theme app extensions…
