Hi,

openoffice.org-mimelnk conflicts with openoffice.org (<= 1.0.3-2) and
openoffice.org with openoffice.org-l10n-en (<= 1.0.3-2) due to a package
split and file moving from package A to package B,.

OK, let's test the 2.3pre1 packages:

$ LANG="C" sudo dpkg -i openoffice.org*2.3pre1*deb
dpkg: regarding openoffice.org_1.0.3-2.3pre1_all.deb containing openoffice.org:
 openoffice.org conflicts with openoffice.org-l10n-en (<= 1.0.3-2)
  openoffice.org-l10n-en (version 1.0.3-2) is installed.
dpkg: error processing openoffice.org_1.0.3-2.3pre1_all.deb (--install):
 conflicting packages - not installing openoffice.org
[...]
dpkg: regarding openoffice.org-mimelnk_1.0.3-2.3pre1_all.deb containing openoffice.org-mimelnk:
 openoffice.org-mimelnk conflicts with openoffice.org (<= 1.0.3-2)
  openoffice.org (version 1.0.3-2) is installed.
dpkg: error processing openoffice.org-mimelnk_1.0.3-2.3pre1_all.deb (--install):
 conflicting packages - not installing openoffice.org-mimelnk

Errors were encountered while processing:
 openoffice.org_1.0.3-2.3pre1_all.deb

a-ha.

dpkg should notice that I am about to install all 2.3pre1 packages (which
will replace the 1.0.3-2 packages) and let me do it...

apt works fine.

Maybe apt runs dpkg with --auto-deconfigure or so?
