The Google Merchant app is fantastic for exposing our complete catalog to audience searches. Initially, it felt a little challenging to set up, but once it was done, the process became very smooth. The integration with the app is simple and straightforward. This also helps us place ads on Google as well. We are really happy with the app. Thank you, Google!
Dort finden Sie ebenfalls „Support erhalten“.
Hi - you haven't submitted any support tickets to our team since you installed the app. If you click into the Google & YouTube app on your Shopify store, in the upper right there are three dots and you can click "Get Support". That submits a ticket to our support agents. You can also get the same link if you scroll to the bottom of the app and it will say Get Support there as well.
Really poor support and guidance. Seemingly lost all connection to google analytics and cannot find anywhere in the app to add it back in!
Hi! I couldn't find a case or support ticket submitted to us linked to either of your merchant center accounts. Can you please contact support at https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app
You can also submit support tickets directly from the app in the menu by selecting Contact Support.
We are using the Google & YouTube app for Shopify on our store: https://dolfinos.com/.
We noticed that even after updating the app a few weeks ago, the data sent to Google Ads via the Google Tag still contains outdated parameters:
• ecomm_pagetype
• ecomm_prodid
• ecomm_totalvalue
From what I understand, these parameters are part of the old tracking format and should have been replaced by the newer event structure after the update. However, they are still being sent, which may affect our tracking and remarketing performance.
Hi! I couldn't find a case or support ticket submitted to us about this. Can you please contact support at https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app
I'm not able to properly troubleshoot or reply publicly with private information or direction to you here, so submitting a support ticket would be preferable to communicating via review.

My main gripe with this app is the lack of server-side tracking, it's 2025 people! This limitation isn’t clearly communicated, and many users likely aren’t aware of it. For an app of this size and importance, the decision to exclude server-side tracking feels like a significant design oversight. While I’ll have to create a custom solution for my own events anyway, it’s disappointing to see Google take such a limited approach on this front.
Cheers,
Aldert
The Google & YouTube app for Shopify is easy to connect and helps sync products smoothly to Google Merchant Center. However, it would be helpful if the setup process and currency sync between regions were clearer to avoid confusion with local currencies and approval issues. Overall, a great tool for expanding visibility across Google Shopping and YouTube.
Used this app for years then woke up one morning to find multiple errors on my merchant centre. For some reason overnight all my products changed from in stock to 'blank' - only solution was to manually update everything to in stock on merchant centre - not an easy task on over 50k products - all are in stock on shopify.
Now my product description on MC is not showing my Shopify SEO Product description, its showing my product description when its set to use SEO title/description only.
Major issue is this over CSS capacity, again happened over night.
Why fix something that isnt broken!? This has nearly bankrupt my business ive gone from too many sales to nothing. I'll be putting all of my google ads on hold until this is all resolved. Read other reviews and avoid this 'sales channel' until they actually fix all of these issues.
Hi - I've gone ahead and replied on one of your case tickets. It seems that the over-quota issue was the main culprit when you expanded the product sync to multiple markets, and only a few products had missing availability. For others having quota issues, you can visit https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/additional_items
Love this App, it integrated well and has helped to show me where the business is coming from and the seamless integration for products is great.
The app worked good for a while now there are all sorts of problems where the URL has something added to it and the item is rejected by google for now working. All kinds of problems now - the gtin is not going through either even though it is there.
Hi - the URL format has not changed since the app launched. You may see certain parameters being added in Merchant Center to the end of the URL for analytics, but it does not affect your website or product listing. The only issues I've seen recently were at most 7 products with an Unavailable Product Landing Page for one day, but that has nothing to do with the product URLs and should not have affected the majority of the products you list. This was due to our inability to read landing pages as for a short time period, some traffic from Google was being blocked by Shopify security protocols, but that has long since resolved.
The GTINs aren't coming through because you have set your products to being "Custom Products", meaning they wouldn't have a GTIN. If you mark them as not being Custom Products, you'll see your GTINs being populated again.

There are many things I can't discuss about your store publicly that I can via support tickets, and I didn't see any existing support tickets before this review.
The app does a great job of tracking however on further investigation the product ID uses an incorrect prefix if you're only using it for GA4.
It sends a prefix of "shopify_US_" for all stores. So for me with a UK store the prefix of our product ID's is "shopify_GB_" and there is no way to change this in the Google and YouTube app?
Hi, please send us a ticket at https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app, since I'm unable to find your store or linkage through your public facing name alone. However, it's very likely the prefix is not incorrect, despite it being a different country listing. If you had connected before, you may have received a US prefix initially, and as you've added on additional markets, we wouldn't want to create a unique product ID for the same item in different countries, since that would treat them as different products entirely, not just the same item sent to different markets. So behind the scenes your Shopify_US_ product IDs are likely being targeted or US, UK, and other countries; we just didn't want to delete and add new products when you made the link via the app. You can confirm this by checking Merchant Center > All Products > add the Country and Language columns, and viewing which countries a product may be opted into. Note that we don't allow changing the prefix, because that would essentially treat all these items as NEW products, losing all history and existing campaigns, because Product IDs are not able to be edited, so this is an intentional procedure to preserve your data.
