　処理時間の短縮および処理負荷の軽減を図ることができる。 　データ格納用の複数のデータ格納領域（２ａ，２ｂ）を備えるストレージ装置（３）の、データ格納領域（２ａ，２ｂ）の読み書きチェックを行うコンピュータ（１）は以下の機能を有する。データチェック手段（４）は、データ格納領域（２ａ，２ｂ）毎に設けられるフラグ（５ａ，５ｂ）を参照し、データの有無を判断する。 　データ読み書き手段（６）は、データの存在しないデータ格納領域（２ｂ）についてはデータの読み込み動作を行わない。
