OF TURTLE CREEK, PENNSYLVANIA.
CLoTHEs-FASTENER Fon CRIBs'.
Specication of Letters Patent,
Patented Dec. 31, 1907.
Application filed December l1, 1906l Serial No. 347,304.
To all whom "it Im (1.3/ concern Be it known that l, VILLIAM F. LAZARO, citizen of the United States of America, rcsiding at rIurtle Creek, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful lmpriwcmcnts in Clotiles-Fasteners for Cribs, of which the. following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
'lhis invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in Clothes holders for beds and cribs, and the invention has for its obj ect the provision of novel means for rmly retaining the sheets, spreads and similar cloths upon a bed or crib, whereby an infant or person sleeping in the bed, and of a restless disposition, will not become uncovered during their slumber.
Another object of this invention is to provide a bed clothes holder applicable to various types of beds and cribs, the holder being constructed whereby it may be easily and quickly adjusted and secured to the frame work of a bed or crib. l
Vith these and other objects in view,
`which will more readily appear as the invention is better understood, the-same consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of `parts to be hereinafter more fully described and then specifically pointed out inthe appended claims.
AIn the drawing forming' part of this Specification, like numerals of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, in which Figure 1 is an. elevation of my improved holder, Fig. 2 is a plan, showing the pins-in a horizontal position, Fig. 3 is a`perspective view of the holder, as applied to a crib, and Fig. 4 is a plan of one end of the holder constructed to clamp a bed or crib constructed.I ol wood.
ln the accompanying drawing, I have illustrated a con venti onal form of crib constructed i -or similar cloth spread thereupmi, and in order that my invention may be fully understood, I have illustrated two ol my improved holders as attached to the sheet 5 and to the posts 2 and rods 3.
The holder is preferably constructed of wire or similar light and durable material and comprises two members 6 and 7. The ont` end of the member 6 is provided with a with a loop 9 through which the member 6 slides. The opposite ends of the members 6 and 7 are bent to form hooks 1() and are then secured, as at 11. v Adjacent to the secured ends of the members are formed loops 12 and carried by said eyelets are fastening devices 14, the devices illustrated being ordinary kinds of fastening devices can be attached to the members whereby the sheet 5 or similar cloths can be attached thereto. Upon one of the members 6 or 7, I mount another ed thereupon whereby it can be positioned centrall of the fastening devices 14, or at nya desired point, when the members 6 and 7 are adjusted.
By referring to Fig. 3 of the drawing, the manner of securing the holder to the rods 3 is clearly shown, also the manner in which a sheet or similarbed clothisheld by the holder.
wooden beds or cribs, I provide the hook ends l() of the. h'older with screws 16, said screws being detachable whereby the hook end of the holder can be placed in engagement with a vertically disposed slat or rail, and then the screw replaced to firmly retain the holder in position. j
Such changes in the size, proportion and minor details` of construction entering into my improved holder as are permissible by the appended claims, may be resorted to without departing ,from the spirit and scope of the invention.
What I claim and desire to secure by Let- 'ters Patent, is:`- f
A clothes holder-comprising apair of rods each formed at one terminus with an eye, the eye upon one oll thc rods extending in an opposite direction withrespect to the eye upon the other of the rods, each of the rods loop 8 through which the member 7 is ada t-4 ed to slide., while said member 7 1s provi 'ed safety pins, but it is obvious that various Where the holder is used in connection withl extending through the eye of the other rod fastening device 15 which is slidably niount-4 andprovided at a, point in proximity to its hook, combined with fastening devices carl other, terminus with.v a loop extending at ried by one of said rods and seid loops. 10
. right angles with respect to the eye et the In testimony whereof I affix my signature A. terminus of its respective rod, each of the 1n the presence of two witnesses.
`roris'heyinzgf one art of that portion of its WILLIAM F. LAZARO.
end adjacent' the oop bent over and secured Witnesses: to (the/other art, said bent portion of each MAX H. SRoLovITz, of ftliefifftsgfo dedback upon itself to form a A. J. TRrGG.
