PATENT FFICE.
WVILFRED LABELLE, OF OOHOES, NEW YORK.
WINDOW-FIXTU RE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 734,129, dated July 21, 1903.
Application filed September 9, 1902. $erial No. 122,729. (No model.)
' citizen of. the United States, residing at and shown supporting a shade-roller and a hoes, county of Albany, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Window-Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to such improvements; and it consists of the novel construction and combination of parts hereinafter described and subsequently claimed.
Reference may be had to the accompanying drawings, and the reference characters marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Similar characters refer to similar parts in the several figures.
Figure l of the drawings is a front elevation showing the upper portion of a windowframe with my improved hanger attached curtain-pole. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of one of the shade-roller brackets detached. Fig. 3 is a side elevation of one of the pole-brackets detached. Fig. 4 is an edge view of one of the bracket-supports detached. Fig. 5 is a vertical cross-section taken on the broken line 5 5 in Fig. 4. The last four figures are shown on an enlarged scale.
I have shown the upper portion of a windoW-frame 1, the lower portion being broken away, to which the bracket-supports 2 2 are attached by means of nails or screws 3, inserted through the screw-apertures formed in the base-plate 4 of the support. The baseplate is provided with a projecting slideway consisting of the guide-bar 5, secured thereto, as by the ends 6, inserted through apertures therein and riveted by upsetting the inserted ends, as at 7. The shade-roller bracket (shown on an enlarged scale in Fig. 2) is provided with a slot 12 in its lower end adapted to engage the bar 5 and rigidly secure the bracket to the bar in any adjusted position thereon. The upper ends of the shade-roller brackets may be provided with the usual aperture 14 and slot (shown by dotted lines) 15 to receive and support the shade-roller in the usual manner. Each base-plate 4 is also provided at one end with a stud 20, fixed therein and provided with a head 21, also with a loop or staple 22, fixed upon the plate by inserting the legs therethrough and riveting at in the same way that the bar 5 is socured to thebase-plate.
The curtain-pole bracket 'is preferably made of a single piece of sheet metal, bent as shown in Fig. 3, with the lower straight portion 31secured together, as by rivet 32, and the upper portion provided with a seat 33 for the curtain-pole 34. The pole-brackets, one for each end of the pole, can be detachably secured to the hangers by inserting the lower end 31 through the loops 22 and the lower forked end of the brackets straddling the studs 20, being held thereon by the heads 21, the forks 35 on the lower end of the bracket being clearly shown in Fig. 1.
I am thus able by means of the hangers 2 to adjustably arrange the shade-roller brackets to varying positions on the guide-bar 5 to accommodate them to shade-rolls of any desired length and also to support by the same hanger suitable brackets for detachably supporting the curtain-pole thereon.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A combined end hanger for shade-roller and curtain-pole brackets, comprising an attaching-support having thereon a guide-bar for a roller-bracket and a staple and headed stud for a curtain-pole bracket, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 6th day of September, 1902.
WILFRED LABELLE.
