As will be seen from the several figures of the drawings, said shell or medallion a, beat" ing the photograph, picture, or the like, is used in connection with an ornamental framelike device 6, which may be of any desirable configuration in outline, and may be highly ornamented. The said framelike device, which is made of metal, is provided with a centrally-arranged depression e, formed by the backwardly-extending an n ular part c and the flat ring-shaped edge 0 said ring having holding-prongs 6?, as illustrated in Figs. 2, 3, 4, and 5, or it may be provided with a solid or closed back e as indicated in said Fig. 7, in which latter case the prongs are forced directly out from the solid back 0 and then bent in the manner to be hereinafter set forth. These said parts form a suitable chamber in the frame-like device 6, into which the shell or medallion a,hereinabove mentioned, can be placed and retained therein by any suit-able number of said holding prongs or lugs 6 which extend in radial lines toward the center of said frame-like device, and by means of a proper tool can be forced into the chamber a of the shell or medallion a and then bent back and down against the holding portion 0' of the pin or bar 0 or against the annular edge 0 of the said ring or collet b, as will be clearly understood from an inspection of Figs. 2 and at. To facilitate the perfect arrangement of the medallion a in the said frame 6 and also to prevent the turning of the pin or bar 0 in connection with the said medallion and frame, I have provided the ring'shaped edge e of the frame 6 at the desired point with a suitable slotorcnt-away part, as eLas indicated in Figs.

2 and 5, or, where the closed back a is used, with a hole or opening 6 (see Fig. 7,) in which the curved part c of the pin 0 is arranged in such a manner that the pin or bar 0 will become arranged on the back and outer surface of the said frame a, with the said curved part c securelylodged in either the said slot or cut-away part c or the said hole a to prevent any possible turning or displacement of the said parts. The said frame-like devicec is usually provided with a suitably-curved lip 6 as indicated in Figs. 3 and 5, or with a similar lip c", as in Fig. 7, which is formed integral with the main body of said frame-like device 0 and forms a receiving portion for the pin-point c of the said pin or bar 0 aft-er it has been forced through the garment,Whereby when the device is used as a badge it becomes securely attached to the garment and cannot be brushed off or become detached in any other manner and lost.

From the above description it will be seen that I have devised a simple and cheap as well as an ornamental and useful device, which can be put to many different uses.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is- 1. In a device for displaying photographs, pictures, medallions, &c., the combination, with an ornamental frame-like device, having a central depression formed therein, of a shell having an inwardly-extending annular rim or bead, arranged in said depression, a collet in said shell held therein by said rim or bead, and radially-disposed holding lugs or prongs on said frame-like device, said lugs or prongs being bent back upon themselves and clamped down upon the inner surface or edge of said collet, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

2. In a device for displaying photographs, pictures, medallions, &c., the combination, with an ornamental frame-like device, having a central depression formed therein, of a shell having an inwardly-extending annular rim or head, arranged in said depression, a ring or collet having an inwardly-extending annular edge extending into the back of said shell and held therein by said annular rim or bead of said shell, a flexible covering on said shell, bearing a picture, emblem, design, or the like, and radially-disposed holding lugs or prongs on said frame-like device, said lugs or prongs being bent back upon themselves and clamped down upon the inner surface or edge of said collet, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

4. In a device for displaying photographs, pictures, medallions, &c., the combination, with an ornamental frame-like device, having a central depression formed therein, of a shell having an inwardly-extending annular rim or bead, arranged in said depression, a ring or collet having an inwardly-extending annular edge extending into the back of said shell and held therein by said annular rim or bead of said shell,a flexible covering on said shell bearing a picture, emblem, design, or the like, and radially-disposed holding lugs or prongs on said frame-like device, said lugs or prongs being bent back upon themselves and clamped down upon the inner surface or edge of said collet, and a pin or bar connected therewith, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

5. In a device for displaying photographs, pictures, medallions, &c., the combination, with an ornamental frame-like device e, having a central depression formed by a backwardly-extending portion of said frame-like device, and also having a slot or opening in said portion, of a shell having an inwardlyextending annular rim or bead, arranged in said depression, and a pin or bar 0, having a holding portion 0, and a connecting curved or looped part c fitted into the said slot or opening in said frame portion and held therein, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

6. In a device for displaying photographs, pictures, medallions, &c., the combination, with an ornamental frame-like device 6, having a central depression formed by a backwardly-extending portion of said frame-like device, and also having a slot or opening in said portion, of a shell having an inwardlyextending annular rim or bead, arranged in said depression, a ring or collet having an inwardly-extending annular edge extending into the back of said shell and held therein by said annular rim or bead of said shell, a flexible covering on said shell, bearing a picture, emblem, design, or the like, and a pin or bar c, having a holding portion 0, and a connecting curved or looped part c fitted into the said slot or opening in said frame-like portion and held therein, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

'7. In a device for displaying photographs, pictures, medallions, &c., the combination, with an ornamental frame-like device e, having a central depression formed by a backwardly-extending portion of said frame-like device, and also having a slot or opening in said portion, of a shell having an inwardlyextending annular rim or head, arranged in said depression, a collet in said shell held therein by said rim or bead, radially-disposed holding lugs or prongs on said frame-like device, said lugs or prongs being bent back upon themselves and clamped down upon the inner surface or edge of said collet, and a pin or bar 0, having a holding portion 0', and a connecting curved or looped part c fitted into the slot or opening in said frame-like portion and held therein, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

8. In a device for displaying photographs, pictures, medallions, &c., the combination, With an ornamental frame-like device 6, having a central depression formed by a backwardly-extending portion of said frame-like device, and also having a slot or opening in said portion, of a shell having an inwardlyextending annular rim or bead, arranged in said depression, a ring or collet having an inwardly-extending annular edge extending into the back of said shell and held therein by said annular rim or head of said shell, a flexible covering on said shell, bearinga picture, emblem, design, or the like, radially-disposed holding lugs or prongs on said framelike device, said lugs or prongs being bent back upon themselves and clamped down upon the inner surface or edge of said collet, and a pin or bar 0, having a holding portion 0, and a connecting curved or looped part c fitted into the said slot or opening in said frame-like portion and held therein, substantially as and for purposes set forth.
