Be it known that I, LORENZO D. CORSER, a

ton, in the county of Cumberland andiState of Maine, haveinvented anew and useful Cow-Tail Holder, of which the following is a specification. i i i The purpose of the present invention isito provide asimple and effective means for securing the cows tail` during theiprocess of of this character as heretofore constructed do not grip the tail securely andcannot be readily and easily applied, and these objectionable features are avoided by the present invention, which provides an appliance that can be tted to and will securely grip and hold the animals tail to the ease and comfort `of the milker.

The invention consists essentiall j of a joint and formed of similar members which move with the respective parts of the frame and are operated thereby. i

Each part 4 will be provided with a member 5, which may be applied thereto in any convenient manner; but for the `sake of simplicity and economy of construction the members 5 form an integral part of the respective frame -sections and are providedby recurving or folding a portion of the i parts 4' upon themselves, as shown most ,clearly in Fig. 3, and thefolds are opened sufficiently to provide for the reception of the pivot 6, by means of which the hinge-joint is had between the parts of the frame. By hav `ing the clasp disposed on the inner or concaved h side of the jointed frame it will occupy a position opposite the space formed between the buttocks and thereby be out of the way and `assist in retaining the device `improper position. j i

. Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new iss .s i

A cow-tail holder comprising a frame curving in its length and formed of `similar parts which are hinged together at theirinner ends, and having extensions projecting `inward from the `concave side of the frame contignousto the hinge-joint and oppositely curving to unitedly form a fetter or clasp whose passage is parallel with the said hingejoint so as to encircle the cow?s tail, substantially as described.
