UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICEA JOSEPH HURSH AND ABRAHAM HURSH, OF PHILADELPHIA, PA.
IMPROVEMENT IN FACING MOLDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 49,272, dated August 8, 1865.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, JOSEPH HURSH, of the city and county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, and ABRAHAM HURSH, of the said city of Philadelphia, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Facing Molds for Casting; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same.
The nature of our invention consists in the use of ocher for facing molds for iron, brass, and other metal castings.
We use the ocher in a finely-powdered state, or adulterated with charcoal, stonecoal, or other substances which are. generally used for facing, for facing molds; but for cores or dry-sand molds we use the ocher for a wash.
