Application filed April 28, 1885.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, \VALDO V. SNYDER, a citizen of the United States, residing at (Jan ton, in the countyof Stark and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful In1- provements in Plow-Olevises; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the clevis locked to the crown-head. Fig. 2 is a perspective view showing the clevis unlocked and detached from the 'crownhead.
The present invention relates to that class of clevises designed to be attached to the forward end of a plow-beam; and its nature con sists in the different parts and combination of parts hereinafter described, and particularly pointed out in the claim.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in each figure of the drawings.
In the accompanying drawings, A repre sents the plow-beam, to the forward end of which is attached in the ordinary manner the crown-head B, said crown head being provided with any desired number of cogs, 1), arranged substantially as shown in the drawings.
The clevis O is substantially of the form shown in the drawings, and is attached to the beam A, as shown. The rear ends of the (No model.)
elevis are provided with the slots a, through which pass the bolt D, as seen in the drawings. To the clevis O is pivoted the latch E. which is substantiallyof the form shown, and is provided at its rear end with the projection d, which is for the purpose of holding the latch in the position shown in Fig. 1.
In use the latch E is raised, as shown in Fig. 2, when the clevis O can be forced back, thereby disengaging the projections F from the cogs b, when the clevis can be placed in In testimony that I claim the above I havehereunto subscribed my name in the presence of two witnesses.
