The brush may be used to apply the mascara or oil and simultaneously the comb separates the coated eyelashes thus avoidingthe undesirable adhesion.

Likewise the brush and/ or comb may be readily removed from the holder, washed and reused or the said brush and comb may be replaced with others and so provide as desired brushes or combs for each particular need.

Therefore, the principal object of the invention resides in the provision of a novel combined eyelash brush, comb and holder.

Another object provides for an eyelash brush, comb and holder wherein the brush and/or comb maybe readily removed from the holder for cleaning purposes or for the replacement thereof.

Still another object provides for a novel brush and comb holder which may be of simple construction and be inexpensively manufactured.

Other ancillary objects will be apparent henceforth from the detailed description when read in the light of the drawings, in which Fig. 1 is a plan view of the invention illustrating the preferred sequence of assembly.

Referring to Figs. 1 and 2, the invention appertains to a holder ID, a frame ll therefor, preferably formed to wire or the like and which has a loop l2 formed in the lower extremity thereof. The'loop I2 is of no particular size other than being sufficient to permit the insertion of a finger therein. The upper portion of the frame II 2 terminates in two divergingarms I3, and I l to which the holder i0 is secured by soldering, crimping or any other convenient means.

The holder H1 is formed from relatively thin sheet metal or the like, in the shape of an are analogous to the natural arcuate positioning of eyelashes and has the ends l5, I5 thereof bent over to provide for the insertion of the frame arms l3, I4 in the recesses formed thereby. Subsequent soldering or crimping of the relative parts results in the permanent attachment of the frame II to the'holder Ill.

As shown .in Fig. 3, plural punchings are formed in the holder ID to provide resilient clamps I! in the face thereof and resilient clamps l8 in the rear thereof. Adapted to be positioned adjacent holder l0 and retained thereon by clamps H or l8, are the brush 20, Fig.4 and the comb 2 I, Fig. 5.

While in Figs. 1 and 2, the brush 20 is shown on the inside of the holder I0 and the comb 2| on the outside thereof, the respective brush and comb may be alternately positioned as required. Likewise, two brushes or two combs or a brush alone or comb alone could be utilized in the novel holder.

Another embodiment of the invention is 11- lustrated in Fig. 6 wherein, a stamping 25 is formed to provide plural slots 26 and a sleeve 21. The said sleeve is arranged to receive the arm l3 therein and the slots 26 form clamps which receive the brush 2!! and comb 2i therein. A like member 25, not shown, is provided for the arm l4 and the said brush and comb are supported therebetween with the compression-tension of the two arms I3, l4 retaining the brush and comb in effective position.

A further embodiment is disclosed in Fig. 7 wherein plural stampings 30 are provided with sleeves 3| for the insertion of arms [3, l4 respectively therein. Rectangular apertures 32 are formed to receive the ends 33 of the respective brush 20 and comb 2|. As aforementioned the compression-tension of arms [3, l4 retain the brush and comb in cooperative relationship.

Briefly, the above novel holder may be adapted for many uses and may be applied to fill any particular need, and is especially directed toward the applyin of oil or mascara to eyelashes and during the same operation separating the adhering eyelashes.

The brush 20 and the comb 2| have been designed with a view toward relatively inexpensive manufacturing costs in order that they be ex 3 pendable and readily replaceable, with the holder therefor continually being utilized.

While three forms or embodiments of the invention have been shown and described herein for illustrative purposes, and the construction and arrangement incidental to three specific applications thereof have been disclosed and discussed in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is limited neither to the mere details or relative arrangement of parts, nor to its specific embodiments shown herein, but that extensive deviations from the illustrated forms or embodiments of the invention may be made without departing from the principles thereof.

In which I claim:

1. A combined eyelash brush and comb of the character described comprising a frame formed to provide gripping means and having plural diverging arms extending therefrom, an arcuate holder, means for securing said holder to said arms, plural punchings formed to provide clamps on both sides of said holder, an arcuate comb arranged to be secured in some of said clamps and an arcuate brush arranged to be secured in the remainder of said clamps.

2. A combined eyelash brush and comb of the character described comprising a wire frame having a body portion and a loop at one end thereof, the other end terminating in plural diverging arms, an arcuate holder, means for securing said holder to said arms, plural punchings formed to provide clamps on both sides of said holder, an arcuate comb arranged to be secured in some of said clamps and an arcuate brush arranged to be secured in the remainder of said clamps.

A combined eyelash brush and comb of the character described comprising a wire frame having a body portion and a loop formed at one end thereof, the other end terminating in plural diverging arms, an arcuate holder having the end portions thereof formed to provide apertures, means for securing said arms within said apertures, plural punching formed to provide clamps on both sides of said holder, an arcuate comb arranged to be secured in some of said clamps and an arcuate brush arranged to be secured in the remainder of said clamps.

A combined eyelash brush and comb of the character described comprising a wire frame having a body portion and a loop formed at one end thereof, the other end terminating in plural diverging arms, an arcuate holder having the end portion thereof formed to provide apertures, said holder arranged to be secured to said arms by crimping thereof, plural punchings formed to provide clamps on both sides of said holder, an arcuate comb arranged to be secured in some of said clamps and an arcuate brush arranged to be secured in the remainder of said clamps.

A combined eyelash brush and comb of the character described comprising a frame formed to provide gripping means and having plural diverging arms extending therefrom, an arcuate holder, means for securing said holder to said arms, an arcuate brush member, an arcuate comb member, and means for detachably securing said brush and comb members to said holder.

6. A combined eyelash brush and comb of the character described comprising a frame formed to provide gripping means and having plural diverging arms extending therefrom, an arcuate holder, means for securing said holder to said arms, plural punchings formed to provide clamps in the face of said holder, similar plural punchings formed to provide clamps in the rear of said holder offset relative to the former clamps, and said clamps arranged to receive arcuate comb members therein.
