4 Claims. (01. 4-7) This invention relates to improvements in devices employed for medical purposes, and more particularly to chairs, bidets or the like adapted for use in the treatment of rectal, vaginal or like disorders.
It is a purpose of the present invention to provide a seatwhich may be employed as a table, bidet, or the like and utilizable for the treatment of rectal disorders, such as, hemorrhoids, rectal pus formations, rectal abrasions and swellings; for Vaginal'disorders and for irrigations.
It is a further purpose of this invention to provide a medical seat and the like with which a diseased human orifice may be bathed with a medicated fluid.
It is a still further object of this invention to provide a medical seat or the like which will provide the patient with heat treatment on his back at the sametime that the patients infected area is being bathed.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a medical seat or the like, having portions which may be spread apart at Will, whereby the cheeks of the rump of the patient maybe spread to facilitate the bathing, of or the spraying into the affected or infected rectal parts, or the entry of a probing or other instrument.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a seat with a spraying device, whereby parts of the body of the patient, such as, for example, the rectum or va'gi'na may be sprayed with a medicament or water, and which device may suitably regulate or control the quantity or flow and the heat thereof.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a seat of the foregoing class which may be tilted or reclined into desired positions.
These objects and advantageous features are accomplished by the novel and'practical construction, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter disclosed and illustrated in the ac companying drawing, constituting an essential partiof the disclosure, and in which:

Fig. 7 isa detailed View of a form of nozzle employed in Fig; 5.
Reference will now b made more particularly to the drawings. Itis to be understood, however, that, although the drawings show-the invention asjbeing applied in the forms of a chairanda bidet, the same may assume the structure of a table, bench or other apparatus for the support ofthe patient during treatment, parts of which may be relativelypositioned to accommodate the patient as may be found necessary during treatments. 7

Receptacle [8 comprises preferably a substantially cylindrical shell, the wall of which converges as indicated at 18c and at the bottom of which is a conventional goose-neck trap 18b of a drain pipe 18c." This will facilitate the spreading of the rump cheeks of the patient as desired.
The leg rest I4 is swingably attached to frame I3 by any conventional means (not shown) and may be'maintainedinadjusted position by the 3 swlngably attached to the frame I3 by any conventional means (not shown) and maintained in adjusted position by wing nut I Set.
The legs of the patient-may be made to rest on the adjustable rest [4, while the head and back of the patient may be made to rest on the adjustable head rest l5. The seat frame l3 may be angularly adjusted by a spindle 39 disposed in a vertical direction, threadedly connected to leg sections I 2a and l2b, spindle 39 being oper:.

flow of liquid from pipe 59 into manifold 5| is controlled by valve 52 operable by wheel 53 through a connecting shaft 53a. Tank 20 is connected to chamber 5! through pipe 54, the flow of liquid being regulated by means of valve 55 operable by wheel 55 through a connecting shaft 560.. Tank 2| is connected to manifold or chamber 5| through pipe 51, the flow of liquid being regulated by means of valve 58 operable by wheel 59 through a connecting shaft 59a.
Spray line 60, 6! is connected to mixing chamber'5l through pipe 60a, the spray being con-- trolled by means of valve 62 operable by handle 63 through a connecting shaft 63a (Figs. 3 and 4) The spray line B-l terminates in a swingable nozzle 63, the angularity or direction of its spray being controlled by shaft 65a operable by handle 65 in front' of tank [8.

To facilitate the flushing of tank l8, a pipe line 66 is made'tc-connect with a circular tubing 61 located on the inside wall of and at the upper end-of tank l8. A plurality of nozzles 68 directed downwardly will flush the inside walls of tank l8 duringland after itsuse. This rinsingor flushing operation is controlled by a valve .89 operable by wheel through a connecting'shaft 1041.1

Referring now to Figs. 5-7, inclusive, there is disclosed a fixturelfi commonly known as a bidet. Bidet TGis provided with a metal frame 1'! having mounted thereon, two cooperating seat portions 18,19 slidably secured in a rear head 80 by means. of tongue and grooves BL Seat portions 18, 19 may be adjusted laterally in relation to-each other by means of a spindle 84 having threads 82, threadedly engaging threads in seat portions 18, 19, in a manner similar to that described with relationto spindles or shafts 34, 35,. and seat portions [6, l1. Spindle is operated by means of a handle or knob 85 connected thereto.
A cover or guard 43' As may be readily seen, the seat portions 18, 19, can be moved outwardly or inwardly in a manner similar to the one described with relation to seats [6, l1 shown in Fig. 2. The frame 1''! is held in position by means of a plurality of lugs 86 extending from frame 11 into the bidet 76. A pipe 81 preferably connects with a mixing chamber, not shown, but which may be similar to that indicated by the numeral 5| and described with respect to Figs. 1-4, inclusive. Pipe 81 passes through an opening 88 in head 80 and then takes a'downwardly directed U-bend 89, the upward portion 90, of which forms a spray nozzle similar in .operation. and purpose to spray nozzle 64, described with respect to Figs. 1 and 2. Spray nozzle 90, however, may be removed and a nozzle 9! (Fig. '7) may be substituted. Nozzle 9! comprises'upper portion 94 which is preferably made from semi-flexible material and portion 92 by which nozzle 9| threadedlyengages pipe 93. N02- zle 9lis much longer than-nozzle Bil-and because of its flexibility may be inserted within the rectum, for internal bath or enema purposes.
Bidet I6 is otherwise conventional and does not per se have to be altered in any way, form or function, for-application of the invention thereto.
Although the drawings and the above specifica--- tion disclose the best modes inwhich Ihave contemplated embodying my invention, I desire in no way to be lmited to the details of such disclosure,
for in the further practical application of my invention many changes in the form and propor-" tions may be made as circumstances require or 1 experience suggests without departing fromthe spirit of the invention within the scope of the appended claims. i
-Having thus described invention, what I claim as new and desire to be secured by Letters Patent is:
