While I have shown only the preferred forms of my invention, I wish to have it understood that various changes or modifications may be made within the scope of the claims hereto attached without departing from the spirit of the invention.

My sanitary medium may, of course, be impregnated in many different ways and with different substances, disinfectants, antiseptics and insecticides, depending upon results desired, and the various substances may be applied to one face or to both faces. They may be applied as mixtures or individually, as foi` instance, a disinfectant on one face, an antiseptic on the other face, and an insecticide superimposed upon one or the other, or both.

My invention is used by merely placing it on the seat of a chair before the occupant sits down. Thesanitary medium thus creates an effective barrier between the chair seat and the body of the occupant. The body warmth and moisture of the occupant, together with possible warmth and moisture left on the seat by a previous occupant serve as agents to aid in thevolatilization of the chemicals in the medium, so as to render them more readily available in their action of a more conventional type and formed with a flap The form shown in Figures 3 and 4 is substantially similar, the envelope 6 being made of one piece of paper and sealedalong two or three edges.

The form shown in Figure 5 is intended to be used 'without a wrapper or envelope, and the sanitary medium I is made with suitable fold lines shown at 6 so that the overall size may be convenientlyr'educed when'it is desired to carry the article in a pocket or to use it for a program or other printed matter, such as advertising. In this form, the chemical preparation should preferably be applied to one side only, so asto be g unexposed as long as the sheet is folded. The preparation, such as a compound of germicides and antiseptics may be sprayed on, as previously described, or the antiseptic herbs with their iibers, succi and chlorophylls and other organic and inorganic disinfectants may be mixed and matted with the original paper pulp and rolled into sheets during the paper manufacture.

The form shown in Figure 6 is intendedA for Wearing in a concealed manner, as inside the trousers, and isprovided with a crotch 1 and with button holes 8 by means of which it may be buttoned to a girdle or the like, or fastened in any other way.

In the form shown in Figures '7 and 8, the medium I, which may be made of tissue paper, cellocotton, or cloth, and which is prepared in the manner previously described, is placed in a bag 'l, preferably made of cloth. This form is particularly intended for use on pillows, and is provided with a tubular pocket I0 bordering three sides of the treated sheet,4 and these pockets may be lled with herbs or chemicals II to have a more lasting medical or double action effect, especially in the treatment of tuberculosis with limedust, or of insomnia with hop leaves.

In the above form,A the two open ends of the pocket are plugged with a cotton pad and also by the flaps I2 and its two press-buttons I3. Double action in this instance means disinfection by the medium in the center and medical treatment by the substance in the border pocket.

In Figure 9 I have shown a form of sanitary medium designed to serve as an antiseptic or germicide for a seat or on top of a head pillow. As compared with that of Figure l, the cover has a window I4 cut out and closed by a piece of cloth or cellular tissue paper, glued behind the opening to` improve the volatility of the antiseptic or germicide.

The form shown in Figures 10 and 11 is possibly the most effective design. It gives the theatre-goer a three-fold security against infection. To make this form popular, it is made in the form of a ticket. The back wall of the envelope and the sheet I may be made substantially as in Figure 1, although the sheet I may be folded to reduce the size of the ticket.`

The front Wall of the envelope is formed with Aa set-off to form a pocket I5, and the set-off portion may be confined between a triangular perviorated line I5 to dene a triangular section connected to a tab I6, by means of which it may be torn on to release the contents of the pocket. These contents preferably comprise a tablet I'l to be used in a persons mouth and two cotton Wads I8 to be used in the nose.

The sheet I is prepared as in the other forms.

The tablet preferably contains a compound of` concentrated herbs, such as: Queens root, peppermint, thyme, cinnamon, selected sea ora and magnesia, malt and powdered milk. The cotton wads are preferably impregnated with the chlorophyll of peppermint or eucalyptus, with an addition of glycerin for keeping a certain amount of moisture for effective reaction. Volatile oils of antisepticV value may be used for correction or improvement of the odor.

I claim:

1. A sanitary medium for a person seated on a chair, comprising a sheet of soft, absorbent material impregnated with a disease-controlling agent and adapted to be interposed between the chair seat ,and the body of a person, the sheet having an envelope enclosing the same with perforations in the envelope to facilitate vaporization of the substance with which the sheet has been treated.

2. A sanitary medium for a person seated on a chair, comprising a sheet of soft, absorbent material impregnated with a disease-controlling agent and adapted to be interposed between the chair seat and the body of a person, the sheet having covers on opposite sides thereof, with perforations in one of the covers to facilitate vaporization of the substance with which the sheet has been treated.
