4 Filed June 5, 1939 Inventor Patented Apr. 9, 1940 UNITED STATES, PATENT OFFICE TOY Leo A. Siciliano, Johnstown, Pa.
Application June 3, 1939, Serial No. 277,229
1 Claim.
' This invention relates to a toy, the general ob-" ,iect of the invention being to provide a device to amuse and interest one playing therewith by requiring the player to display a certain amount of skill and dexterity in performing the object of the device.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claim. p
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be-had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or correspond- .ing parts throughout the several views, and in which:
Figure 1 is an elevation of the device. Figure 2 is a top plan view thereof. Figure '3 is a longitudinal sectional view thereof.
In these views thenumeral l indicates the body of a device which is substantially the shape of shaped cap 8 of transparent material covers the bowl and has its lower part fitting over a reduced portion at the upper edge of the bowl.
Thus it will be seen that by manipulating the device the ball can be tossed'into the cap part and if the player is skillful and has a certain amount of luck he can causethe ball to enter the space between the fingers which is the object of, the game or toy. a
The parts may be made of any suitable material, preferably of material of low cost so that the entire device can be sold for'a'comparatively small sum. f
It is thought from the foregoing description 10 that the advantages and novel features of the, invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described the invention, what claimed as new is: i p
A device of the class described comprising a bowl-shaped member, a stem depending therefrom, a base connected with the lower end of the stem, a rigid post rising from the bottom of the bowl-shaped member and having fingers ex tending upwardly and outwardly therefrom for forming a space for receiving a ball, the top of t the post lying in the same horizontal plane as the top of the bowl-shaped member, with the fingers projecting above; the top of the bowl-shaped 7 member, a ball in the bowl-shaped member and a transparent cap removably fitting over the upper portion of the bow1-shaped member.
