  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • (i) BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a phantom perspective view of a yoga block assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a front exploded view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • (j) DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new yoga device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4 , the yoga block assembly 10 generally comprises a plurality of blocks 12. Each of the blocks 12 has a plurality of engagements 14 and a plurality of receivers 16. A selected number of the blocks 12 are stackable on each other having the engagements 14 on a respective block 12 releasably engaging a respective one of the receivers 16 on a respective block 12. In this way selected number of blocks 12 are releasably attached together to support a user 18 while the user 18 is performing yoga poses. Each of the blocks 12 has a strategic height such that the plurality of blocks 12 can be stacked in a variety of numbers for adjusting the height of the blocks 12 to accommodate the user 18 while the user 18 is performing yoga poses. In this way the plurality of blocks 12 can accommodate the range of motion and flexibility of a wide variety of user 18 s. Each of the blocks 12 may have a height ranging between approximately 5.0 cm and 8.0 cm, a length ranging between approximately 17.0 cm and 25 cm and a width ranging between approximately 10.0 cm and 17.0 cm.
  • Each of the blocks 12 has a top surface 20 and a bottom surface 22 and each of the engagements 14 has a first end 24, a second end 26 and an outer surface 28 extending between the first end 24 and the second end 26. Each of the engagements 14 is elongated between the first end 24 and the second end 26 and a bottom side 30 of the outer surface 28 of each of the engagements 14 is attached to the top surface 20 of a respective one of the blocks 12. The engagements 14 on the respective block 12 are spaced apart from each other and each of the engagements 14 on the respective block 12 is oriented to extend substantially between a front side 32 and a back side 34 of the respective block 12. Each of the engagements 14 may have a height of approximately 5.0 cm and a length of approximately 8.0 cm.
  • Each of the blocks 12 has a pair of wells 36 each extending from the bottom surface 22 of the block 12 toward the top surface 20 of the block 12 such that each of the wells 36 in each of the blocks 12 defines the receivers 16. Each of the wells 36 in a respective block 12 is aligned with a respective one of the engagements 14 on the respective block 12. Continuing, each of wells 36 has a bounding surface 38 and the bounding surface 38 has a plurality of intersecting sides 40 such that each of the wells 36 has a rectilinear shape. Each of the wells 36 in a respective one of the blocks 12 insertably receives a respective one of the engagements 14 on a respective one of the blocks 12 for stacking the respective blocks 12 on each other. Furthermore, the outer surface 28 of each of the engagements 14 on the respective block 12 conforms to the bounding surface 38 of the respective well 36 thereby securing the respective blocks 12 to each other.
  • In use, one or more of the blocks 12 is placed on the floor 42 next to the user 18 when the user 18 is performing yoga poses. In this way the blocks 12 on the floor 42 can support the user 18 when the user 18 does not have the range of motion or flexibility to reach all the way to the floor 42. A selected number of the blocks 12 can be stacked together to reach a desired height to accommodate the physical limitations of the user 18. In this way a physically limited user 18, such as an elderly person or a person recovering from an injury, can safely perform yoga poses that might otherwise be too difficult for the user 18 to perform. Thus the user 18 can enjoy the full benefits of performing yoga without the risk of injury or the restrictions of limited mobility.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
