Abstract

Disclosed herein is an enhanced workout gloves apparatus for evenly spreading force across human hands from pulling on weight lifting bars when utilizing weight lifting workout equipment.

Description

    FIELD OF INVENTION
  • Disclosed herein is an enhanced workout gloves apparatus for evenly spreading force across human hands from pulling on weight lifting bars when utilizing weight lifting workout equipment.
  • BACKGROUND
  • Currently during workouts with weight lifting equipment users must encircle their hands on the distal portions of the equipment bars that are attached to the weights that a user wants to lift for enhancing muscle growth and toneness. Some equipment bars are horizontally straight, some are a combination of horizontally straight and angled bars, while other bars are just angled. When a user encircles their hands on the weight bar and pull on the bar of the weight equipment an uneven force is exerted on the hand bones, muscle, and tissue due to the physical characteristics of the hand structure. This uneven force can result in soreness or even injury to the hand bones, muscle and/or tissue such as tendons, ligaments, and/or cartilage. There exist a need for an apparatus such as the enhanced workout gloves disclosed below to spread the force exerted evenly across the hands to prevent this possible soreness and/or injuries to people who utilize weight bars attached to workout equipment.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY
  • Broadly, described herein is an enhanced workout gloves apparatus that through the use of elevated pads on the exterior of the enhanced workout gloves apparatus at the #2 or index fingers location, the #5 or little fingers location, and/or the location of the palms of the hands itself for the redistribution of force and pressure on the hands from pulling on weight lifting equipment bars.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Described herein is an enhanced workout glove apparatus 10 that provides elevated pad 102 on the inside exterior of the enhanced workout glove 101 at the phalanges location 103 of the #2 index finger 104 and the #5 little finger 105 for the purpose of spreading the force necessary across the hands evenly when pulling down or out on weight lifting equipment bars
  • In the preferred embodiment of the enhanced workout gloves apparatus 10 as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 the enhanced workout glove 101 has three elevated pads 102 located on the distal phalanx 107, the middle phalanx 109, and the proximal phalanx 111 of the #2 index finger 104 portion of the inside exterior 113 of the enhanced workout glove 101, and three elevated pads 102 located on the distal phalanx 115, the middle phalanx 117, and the proximal phalanx 119 of the #5 little finger portion 105 portion of the inside exterior 113 of the enhanced workout glove 101. In the preferred embodiment the elevated pads 102 are permanently embedded in the enhanced workout glove 101. In an alternative embodiment as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 there might be only two elevated pads 102 located on the distal phalanx 107, and the proximal phalanx 111 of the #2 index finger 104 portion of the inside exterior 113 of the enhanced workout glove 101 and two elevated pads 102 located on the distal phalanx 115, and the proximal phalanx 119 of the #5 little finger portion 105 portion of the inside exterior 113 of the enhanced workout glove 101.
  • In an another alternative embodiment the enhanced workout glove apparatus 10 might only have elevated pads 102 located at the interior proximal phalanx portion 111 of the enhance workout glove 101 of the #2 index finger 104 and the interior proximal phalanx 113 of the #5 little finger 105 portion of the enhanced workout glove 101. In another embodiment the elevated pads might only be located on the #2 index finger 104 of the enhanced workout glove 101. In an alternative embodiment as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 there might be a single elevated pad 501 located from the distal phalanx 107, to the proximal phalanx 111 of the #2 index finger 104 portion of the inside exterior 113 of the enhanced workout glove 101 and a single elevated pad 503 located from the distal phalanx 115, to the proximal phalanx 119 of the #5 little finger portion 105 portion of the inside exterior 113 of the enhanced workout glove 101. Any desire location of elevated pad 102 on the any of the fingers might be utilized, however to accomplish the desired objective of providing uniform force across the hand when pulling down or out on workout weight bars.
  • In the preferred embodiment of the enhanced workout glove apparatus 10 the elevated pads 102 would have an elevation of a half inch from the surface of the enhanced workout glove 101 when compressed. The uncompressed elevation of the elevated pad 102 would be dependent on the density of the pad material being utilized. In one preferred embodiment the material being utilized might be a silicone gel. In an alternative embodiment in might be a rubber material. Any material might be utilized however that would provide the desired compressed elevation of an elevated pad 102 at desired locations within the enhanced work out glove 101. In an alternative embodiment the desired compressed thickness of the compressed elevated pad 102 might be ¾ of an inch. It might be ¼ of an inch. Any thickness of a compressed elevated pad might be utilized however to achieve the objective of spreading the necessary force evenly across the hands when pulling down or out on weight lifting equipment bars.
  • In an alternative embodiment, as shown in FIG. 7 the enhanced workout glove might have slots 701 and internal pockets 703 that would allow for interchangeable elevated pads 102 which could be inserted through the slots 501 into the internal pockets 503 depending on the desired elevation for that specific use. To achieve the desired spacing that would be created by a compressed elevated pad 102 between the targeted finger and the equipment bar a specific elevation might be desired to accomplish the intended objective of spreading the exerted force evenly and uniformly across the hand. For example, if an equipment bar angles 45° half way down the weight lifting bar the desired elevation of the elevated pad 102 located in the internal pocket of the enhanced workout glove 101 might need to be ¾ of an inch. If a different weight machine has a different equipment bar angle the desired elevation of the elevated pad might need to be 1 inch. The user could then interchange elevated pads 102 with the correct size for the needed compression thickness to achieve the objective of spreading the necessary force evenly across the hands when pulling down or out on weight lifting equipment bars.
  • In an another alternative embodiment the enhanced workout glove 10 might have elevated pads 102 located at the median and anterior palm portions of the enhanced workout glove as depicted in FIGS. 8-10. In the preferred embodiment of this concept as shown in FIG. 8 one elevated pad 102 would be located on the median palm portion 801 of the workout glove and one elevated pad 102 would be located on the anterior palm portion 803 of the workout glove. In an alternative embodiment as shown in FIG. 9 the enhanced workout glove 10 with the palm portion elevated pads might also include three elevated pads 102 located on the distal phalanx 107, the middle phalanx 109, and the proximal phalanx 111 of the #2 index finger 104 portion of the inside exterior 113 of the enhanced workout glove 101, and three elevated pads 102 located on the distal phalanx 115, the middle phalanx 117, and the proximal phalanx 119 of the #5 little finger portion 105 portion of the inside exterior 113 of the enhanced workout glove 101. In an alternative embodiment the enhanced workout glove 10 might have a single elevated pad 1001 located over both the median and anterior palm portions of the enhanced workout glove as depicted in FIG. 10. In another embodiment the enhanced workout glove 101 might include elevated pads over the median palm 801 and anterior palm 803 as well as the at the upper median palm area 805 and/or at the anterior upper palm area 807 portion of the enhanced workout glove 101 as shown in FIG. 8. Any location and/or number of elevated pads 102 on the enhanced workout glove 101 might be utilized to accomplish the objective of evening out the exerted force on the hand from the pressure of pushing or pulling the equipment bars.
