Abstract
An elliptical trainer comprises a frame set, two first transmission rods, two second transmission rods, two footboard assemblies, a holding flywheel assembly, a stand flywheel assembly, and two eccentric link rods. When a user is stepping the two footboard assemblies and taking exercise with elbows on the two second transmission rods, the two footboard assemblies may be stepped up and down to recycle and each second transmission rod may be rotated to reciprocate along an arc and centered in a stand ear. At this time, each drag rod of two stand ears arranged right and left may pull the corresponding eccentric link assembly to rotate 360 degree and the torque of the third flywheel may not overlap each drag rod of each eccentric link assembly vertically. Accordingly, the arrangement of each eccentric link assembly may prevent the swing operation from being stuck to pause or operate unsmoothly.
Description
- The present invention relates to an elliptical trainer, and more particularly to an elliptical trainer capable for being stepped elliptically.
- The conventional elliptical trainer is used for consuming the movement of stepping by stepping the footboards to drive the flywheel(s), such as inertia wheel. The flywheel may be user to drive the drag rod through a flexible member, such as belt. However, when the drag rod is pulling the flywheel to rotate, the torque of the flywheel may be overlapped the drag rod so that the total torque is zero to result in that the flywheel is unable to be driven or rotates unsmoothly.
- In order to solve above drawback, China patent no. 201010563057.7 has disclosed that a magnetic actuator is used to prevent the flywheel from stopping rotating. However, if another magnetic member is used, the cost may be higher and increased and alignment is necessary while assembling to prevent from vibrating and swinging.
- In addition, the footboards and the handlebars of the conventional elliptical trainer are linked so that they may not step up and down or operate with the handlebars separately and individually. Therefore, the conventional elliptical trainer may only provide to swing forward and backward and step elliptically. It may not provide to step up and down individually. Besides, the damping of the conventional elliptical trainer is performed by the magnetic-control wheel. It is unable to train the hands or feet individually. The amplitude and range of the damping is controlled electronically or by hand. It is inconvenient to use.
- Accordingly, the present invention may be stepped up and down and swung forward and backward. The ranges of moving up and down and forward and back may be adjusted while the user is training based on the amount of exercise. The damping is not necessary to be controlled electronically or by hand. Obviously, the functions and operations of the present invention are improved.
- In view of the foregoing circumstances, the inventor has invested a lot of time to study the relevant knowledge, compare the pros and cons, research and develop related products. After quite many experiments and tests, the “elliptical trainer” of this invention is eventually launched to improve the foregoing shortcomings, to meet the public use.
- An objective of this invention is providing an elliptical trainer. When a user is stepping the two footboard assemblies and taking exercise with elbows on the two second transmission rods, the two footboard assemblies may be stepped up and down to recycle and each second transmission rod may be rotated to reciprocate along an arc and centered in the stand ear. At this time, the drag rods of the two stand ears arranged right and left may pull the corresponding eccentric link assembly to rotate an angle of 360 degree and the torque of the third flywheel may not overlap each drag rod of each eccentric link assembly vertically. Accordingly, the arrangement of each eccentric link assembly may prevent the swing operation from being stuck to pause or operate unsmoothly.
- To achieve above objectives, an elliptical trainer is disclosed. The elliptical trainer comprises a frame set, two first transmission rods, two second transmission rods, two footboard assemblies, a holding flywheel assembly, a stand flywheel assembly, and two eccentric link assemblies, the two first transmission rods are spaced apart from each other right and left and arranged in front of the frame set, the two second transmission rods are spaced apart from each other right and left and arranged in back of the frame set, the two footboard assemblies are spaced apart from each other right and left and arranged at bottom of the frame set, the holding flywheel assembly, the stand flywheel assembly, and the eccentric link assemblies are pivoted in the frame set and arranged alternatively top to bottom, wherein: the two first transmission rods are respectively arranged at two front sides of a right receiving space and a left receiving space of a rectangular frame disposed at top of the frame set, a bottom side of each first transmission rod is connected with a swinging rod with an arc shape, the bottom side of each first transmission rod is connected with a plate and spaced apart from the swinging rod, one end of the plate opposite to the first transmission rod is pivoted with an L-shaped link rod, one end of the L-shaped link rod opposite to the plate is linked to an axle of a first flywheel of the holding flywheel assembly; the two second transmission rods are respectively arranged at two rear sides of the right receiving space and the left receiving space of the rectangular frame, each second transmission rod has a stand ear and a drag ear, the stand ear is pivoted with a top end of a stand rod and the stand rod is extended downwardly, the drag ear is pivoted with a top end of a drag rod; and the two eccentric link assemblies are respectively arranged at two sides of a third flywheel of the stand flywheel assembly and connected to an axle thereof, each eccentric link assembly is connected to a bottom end of the corresponding drag rod, each eccentric link assembly includes a first link rod and a second link rod, one end of the first link rod is pivoted with the axle of the third flywheel of the stand flywheel assembly, one end of the first link rod opposite to the axle of the third flywheel of the stand flywheel assembly is pivoted with one end of the second link rod, one end of the second link rod opposite to the first link rod is pivoted with the bottom end of the corresponding drag rod. The second transmission rod, the stand flywheel assembly, the drag rod, the two eccentric link rods, and the two footboard assemblies are synchronized to up-and-down step and operate with damping. The forward and backward and up-and-down damping is mixed so that the two footboard assemblies may be individually stepped up-and-down and forward and backward elliptically. The elbow(s) and feet may take exercise.
