Description
- This application claims the priority of provisional application 62/152,181, filed Apr. 24, 2015 entitled HAIR EXTENSION MULTI-FUNCTIONAL STYLING BAR/CASE, STORING AND TRAVEL KIT
- Hair extensions have become a highly used hair product within the beauty industry. There are multiple types of hair extensions with permanent and temporary applications. The most common hair extension applications are clip in or tape on extensions. When clipping in extensions, the clip attaches to hair like a comb. When trying to style the clip in extensions while clipped on to hair, the user tugs and pulls on their hair causing potential damage to their natural hair because of the inability to control the comb like clip holding on to strands of hair. The users also become frustrated because the clip in extensions are hard to hold into place and their hair gets tangled as they are trying to figure out hot to style their hair extensions. Another uncomfortable task is for the users to either wash or dry their hair. Since hair extensions are separate pieces made up of stands of hair it is difficult for the user to thoroughly wash their extensions unless the extensions are clipped in. If the extensions are washed while the user is wearing them, their hair gets tangled and it becomes a big concern for them to safely get the clips off without pulling onto their natural hair. There is an evident need for a styling kit or tool to help the user comfortably wash, dry, style, dye or store their hair extensions prior to wearing them. In our research prior to developing this invention we discovered that in some cases users are holding the hair extensions in place by placing them in their mouth or between cabinet drawers as a way of providing support for their extensions while the user styles them.
- By allowing the user to clip their hair extensions on the hair styling device invention they can have both hands free to wash, shampoo, style, comb and shape their hair extensions easily and quickly without pulling or tugging on their hair to get ready. This invention provides convenience and a comfortable method for the user to get ready faster.
- The hair extension styling, storing and travel kit assembly (hereinafter sometimes referred to as “assembly”) comprising: a core element, three bars that operate with independent hinges and clip directly onto the main housing/bar, three soft rubber like silicone strip bars that provide cushion in order to hold the hair extensions in place and allow for flexibility in the thickness of hair extensions being attached to the housing element. The independent extension bars are foldable with hinging and securable with independent clips at the end of each bar.
- This assembly can be further modified by being attached to glass, mirror, glazed or tiled surfaces with use of suction cups that connect directly to assembly.
- This assembly can be further modified by being attached to towel racks, bars, or horizontal bars with the use of straps that connect directly to assembly.
- This assembly can be further modified by being mounted onto a wall with the screw options that can connect directly to assembly.
- This assembly can accommodate the different types of hair extensions such as clip in, non-clip, with string, and/or without string.
- The assembly can be in multitudes of single application or provide the ability to style hair in many levels (a multi-layer styling bar).
- The assembly can also be used for hair extension styling, storage and hair accessories such as feathers, hair jewels, etc.
- The assembly can be used by a hair extension wearer and a hair styler in order to have an easy grasp of the extension and to easily style the extensions prior to wearing them.
- This assembly can also be modified by the flexibility to secure various thickness of hair.
- This assembly can also be modified to hold various types of hair (wet or dry, straight or curly, thick or thin).
- This assembly can also be modified to hold various lengths of hair in order for the styler to conveniently style their hair extensions.
- This assembly can either be attached as a temporary product or permanently be mounted onto a surface.
- This assembly can be further modified to either be mounted or adhered vertically or horizontally.
- This assembly can be further modified to be transported or stored into a storage box or storage bag, which allows the hair extensions to keep their style.
- This assembly can also be used to style, color, wash or treat permanent or any type of hair extension prior to wearing them.
- This assembly could be modified to also include a stand or an alternative base that would hold this assembly in place instead of having to mount it to a surface.
- The core element of this assembly could be solid, hollow, with single or multiple layers.
- The present application is a publication to take ownership of the invention of the hair extension styling bar and storing kit assembly. The assembly provides a way for hair extension wearers to secure their hair to a styling bar and style it prior to wearing it. This invention solves the concern that hair extensions wearers have with attempting to style their extensions while wearing it, as it tugs and pulls their hair. The assembly also provides a bar for the hair extension wearer to hang their extensions in order to keep the intended style. This assembly can be further modified to include plastic, metal or wooden materials. This assembly can be further modified to either be heat resistant or not. This assembly could be further modified to be water resistant or not. To improve the type of and attachment features of this assembly, the positions of shown suction ups, straps or screws can be constructed in an alternative way. To improve the usability of this assembly the bars that grip and hold the hair in place can be altered to expand or tighten more. To improve design efficiency of assembly a single bar can be developed to compare ease of use of bar and housing. As technology advances this assembly can be modified to use other adhering components or materials to adhere this assembly to multiple surfaces.
