Abstract

A process for controlling a tool includes the following steps, which are not necessarily in order. First, providing a grip device with a grip block smoothly joined to a band. Then, arranging a top side of the grip block proximate the tool and a bottom side of the grip block that is distant the tool. The band is configured to permit human fingers to be adjacent to the grip block.

RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims priority to provisional patent application U.S. Ser. No. 62/138,012 filed on Mar. 25, 2015, the entire contents of which is herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND

The embodiments herein relate generally to athletic equipment.
Prior to embodiments of the disclosed invention, the user of tools utilized in striking a ball (aka a bat, golf club or racket) faced three common problems, application of the proper grip (on the tool), application of the correct amount of pressure on the tool and the problem of holding the tool in the rear of the hand which causes pulling, hooking or slicing the ball). Embodiments of the disclosed invention solve these problems.

SUMMARY

A process for controlling a tool includes the following steps, which are not necessarily in order. First, providing a grip device with a grip block smoothly joined to a band. Then, arranging a top side of the grip block proximate the tool and a bottom side of the grip block that can be distant the tool. The band can be configured to permit human fingers to be adjacent to the grip block.
In some embodiments, the grip device further comprises a first side, a second side, a third side and a fourth side immediately adjacent to both the top side and the bottom side. In some embodiments, the grip block further comprises a length, a width and a height. The length can be at least 0.25 inches, but no more than 0.75 inches. The width can be at least 0.25 inches, but no more than 0.75 inches. The height can be at least 2.00 inches, but no more than 2.50 inches.
In some embodiments, the length can be about 0.50 inches. The width can be about 0.50 inches. The height can be about 2.50 inches.
In some embodiments, the band can have a radius. The radius can be at least one inch but no more than 1.5 inches. In some embodiments, the radius can be about 1.19 inches.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF CERTAIN EMBODIMENTS

By way of example, and referring to FIGS. 1-5, one embodiment of the present system comprises grip device 10. Grip device 10 further comprises grip block 12. Grip block 12 further comprises top side 14 immediately adjacent to first side 16, second side 18, third side 20 and fourth side 22. First side 16, second side 18, third side 20 and fourth side 22 are immediately adjacent to bottom side 24. Bottom side 24 is smoothly connected to band 26.
Grip block 12 can be joined to band 26 smoothly using known materials and known methods. For instance, in some embodiments, this combination can be formed as an integrated unit or molded using a technique such as injection molding. However, other techniques can be effective as well.
In some embodiments, band 26 can be modeled as a semi-circle with a radius R. Radius R should be at least one inch but no more than 1.5 inches. In some embodiments radius R can be 1.19 inches. In some embodiments grip block 12 can have length L, width W and height H. In some embodiments length L is at least 0.25 inches, but no more than 0.75 inches. In some embodiments length L can be about 0.50 inches. In some embodiments width W is at least 0.25 inches, but no more than 0.75 inches. In some embodiments width W can be about 0.50 inches. In some embodiments height H is at least 2.00 inches, but no more than 2.50 inches. In some embodiments height H can be about 2.50 inches. These dimensions are critical for manipulating the tool without turning the tool.
A process 30 for controlling a grip G of a tool B is shown in FIG. 6 and includes the following steps, which are not necessarily in order. First, at step 32, slipping grip device 10 onto a human hand, wherein second side 18 extends away from grip G. Next, at step 34, sliding grip device 10 down the human hand to a base of fingers on the human hand. Finally, at step 36, laying tool B immediately against both the human fingers and grip block 12.
As used in this application, the term “a” or “an” means “at least one” or “one or more.”
As used in this application, the term “about” or “approximately” refers to a range of values within plus or minus 10% of the specified number.
As used in this application, the term “substantially” means that the actual value is within about 10% of the actual desired value, particularly within about 5% of the actual desired value and especially within about 1% of the actual desired value of any variable, element or limit set forth herein.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A process for controlling a tool, comprising:

providing a grip device with a grip block smoothly joined to a band;

arranging a top side of the grip block proximate the tool and a bottom side of the grip block that is distant the tool;

wherein the band is configured to permit human fingers to be adjacent to the grip block.

2. The process of claim 1, wherein the grip device further comprises a first side, a second side, a third side and a fourth side immediately adjacent to both the top side and the bottom side.

3. The process of claim 2, wherein the grip block further comprises a length, a width and a height; wherein

the length is at least 0.25 inches, but no more than 0.75 inches;

the width is at least 0.25 inches, but no more than 0.75 inches; and

the height is at least 2.00 inches, but no more than 2.50 inches.

4. The process of claim 3, wherein:

the length is about 0.50 inches;

the width is about 0.50 inches; and

the height is about 2.50 inches.

5. The process of claim 2, wherein the band has a radius; wherein the radius is at least one inch but no more than 1.5 inches.

6. The process of claim 5, wherein the radius is about 1.19 inches.
