Abstract
Since the fitness towel would be conveniently attached to an article of exercise clothing, it would be readily available and easily accessible at all times. It would also reduce the risk of the user misplacing or losing the towel, and would eliminate the need to hang it over equipment such as barbells, weight machines, treadmills, stationary bikes, etcetera, at a health club. This would ensure bacteria left behind by the equipments' previous users were not transferred to the towel and subsequently to its owner, which would enhance hygiene.

- It is cumbersome to carry a conventional fitness towel, water bottle, etcetera, when exercising at the gym. Other fitness towels need to be held, hung or draped; which makes it easy to get contaminated, lost or forgotten.
- The Gym Towel would be used mainly to wipe and dry the face, and would be secured to a person's body clothing with nylon hook strips. This would ensure the towel remains sanitary and avoid being misplaced or left behind.
- This is a new accessory for the fitness enthusiasts.
- The appealing features of the Gym Towel would be its ease of use, convenience, multipurpose design, enhanced hygiene and ability to enhance security and protect some personal items.
- The Gym Towel differs from what currently exists in the market. It is small and is secured via nylon hook strips to exercise clothing, freeing the hands and still easily accessible to wipe the face. It is cumbersome to carry a conventional fitness towel and a water bottle when exercising; the Gym Towel solves that problem.
- The Gym Towel is an improvement on what currently exists. The fitness towels currently available need to be held, hung or draped and are exposed to bacteria on the surfaces they come in contact with. The Gym Towel is not held, hung or draped on any foreign surfaces, but stays attached to the user.
- The materials used are:
-
- 1) 100% Cotton terry cloth or Microfiber material
- 2) 3 small nylon hook patches or 1 long nylon hook strip
- 3) Zipper or nylon hook and loop strips
-
FIG. 1 - This is the Front Panel (shown without logo), where a company logo can be affixed. It has a concealed compartment in the seam along the long edge, secured with either a zipper or nylon hook and loop strips.
-
FIG. 2 - This is the Back Panel (shown with the three nylon hook strips option), where one single long nylon hook strip or three small nylon hook patches are secured.
Measures 8×3 and ¼ inch thick. - The Gym Towel would be produced primarily from soft, terrycloth and microfiber materials and would measure approximately 8 inches long, 4 inches wide and ¼ inch thick. Ideally, the towel would feature a dual-panel design and its two panels would be stitched together one atop the other along their short edges and one long edge. This would create a pouch-like assembly. The other long edge of the towers dual panel would be partially stitched together approximately halfway along their lengths from top to bottom. This would leave an opening at the top of the unit, which would allow the user to access its interior. The open portion of the Gym Towel would be fitted with a zipper or nylon hook and loop strips.
- The user could place small personal items within the interior of the Gym Towel, such as identification, bank card and/or money.
- Featured on the rear panel of the Gym Towel would be three patches or one long nylon hook strip. These patches would be arranged one above the other (or just the one long strip) in the center of the unit and would provide a means of securing the towel to an article of exercise clothing.
- The front panel can reflect a company logo for promotional/marketing purposes. Of course, the Gym Towel could be made in different sizes and in a range of attractive colors. It could also be shaped to resemble animals or other shapes.
