Description
- 1. FIELD OF THE INVENTION
- This invention relates to a spring belt chair rest part, and is especially related to a chair rest with an elastic back made of radially tensioned elastic belts.
- 2. DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART
- Elastic chair rests have become popular in recent years because of their simple structure and their unique shape. They are often used as leisure chairs. CN203000054U has introduced an elastic rope chair rest part, the main body of which consists of a surrounding frame and a backed seat. The backed seat further consists of a seat and a back. The back is made of crossed elastic ropes, and the rest part is tensioned into a planar structure when there is no load on it. The chair rest part was novel and unique shape, and it was reformed from the previous oxford cloth rest part in the past, and the user will feel funny and resilience. The elastic rope diameter is small, and hips may be sharply/painfully pressed into the ropes. The ropes also have to be weaved in a complicated way. Therefore, manufacturers are searching for a new method to improve the traditional elastic rope chair, which becomes a target for this invention.
- None of the above inventions and patents, taken either singly or in combination, is seen to describe the instant invention as claimed.
- This invention shows in at least one embodiment a backed seat for a chair rest part which is woven by elastic belts.
- This invention is realized by an elastic belt chair rest part consisting of a surrounding frame and a seat having a back (“backed seat”). The backed seat consists of a seat and a back. The seat is made of the same material as the surrounding. It is characterized in that the back is weaved by tensioned elastic belts, and the two belts ends are respectively fixed to the surrounding frame and seat.
- The surrounding frame is a circle, the seat back side is a circular edge, and one end of elastic belt is radially fixed to the circular edge.
- The surrounding frame is a circle. The seat back side is a circular edge. One end of the elastic belt is fixed to the circular edge. The multiple elastic belts are uniformly distributed and are parallel.
- The elastic belts are uniformly arranged and are fixed to the circular edge of the seat at one end, and the point at which the belts would cross, if extended is on the central line of the chair rest part. That is, the belts “fan out” from a central line of the chair rest.
- In a further embodiment, the radial elastic belts are divided into two groups. Intersection (“cross”) points of the extending lines from the two groups are distributed at both sides of the chair rest part central line. That is, one set of belts points to one side of the chair rest, and the other set of belts points to another side of the chair rest. The two groups of belts are overlapped with each other, over and under.
- The upper part of the back is tensioned by a Z shaped elastic rope. The two rope ends are separately fixed to the surrounding frame, and the elastic rope is at the back of elastic belts.
- The surrounding frame is preferably a circle or a square with an inner circle.
- This invention inherits the funny and elastic structure, and further brings a novel and unique shape to provide a more substantial and comfortable fit and feel. This is especially true when the seat is made of common fabric, where the sitter will feel no deformation of the material and the hips will not thus be tensioned or pressed, and the back can be strongly supported by the elastic belts weaved in a Z shape. Moreover, the people's demand for a more diversified lifestyle can be satisfied by colorful and foldable elastic belts and with the surrounding frames in differing colors.
- These and other objects of the present invention will be readily apparent upon review of the following detailed description of the invention and the accompanying drawings. These objects of the present invention are not exhaustive and are not to be construed as limiting the scope of the claimed invention. Further, it must be understood that no one embodiment of the present invention need include all of the aforementioned objects of the present invention. Rather, a given embodiment may include one or none of the aforementioned objects. Accordingly, these objects are not to be used to limit the scope of the claims of the present invention.
- This invention is further explained by the attached drawings as below:
-
FIG. 1 is a 3D schematic drawing for the circular foldable chair. -
FIG. 2 is a schematic drawing for a circular chair rest part. -
FIG. 3 is a schematic drawing for another circular chair rest part. -
FIG. 4 is a schematic drawing for a square chair rest part. - In which, the following reference numerals are associated with the following elements:
- 1—Foldable support
- 11—Support
- 2. Chair rest part
- 21—Surrounding frame
- 22—Seat
- 23—Back
- 24—Elastic belts
- 25—Elastic rope
- Similar reference characters denote corresponding features consistently throughout the attached drawings.
- The circular foldable chair in
FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 consists of a foldable support 1 and thechair rest part 2. The foldable support 1 contains asupport 11 suspending or fixing thechair rest part 2. In this preferred embodiment, thesupport 11 is a circle. The chair rest part contains a surrounding frame 1 and a backed seat on thesupport 11. The backed seat contains aseat 22 and a back 23. Theseat 22 is made of the same material for the surroundingframe 21, such as oxford cloth. The back 23 is weaved by a tensionedelastic belt 24. The two ends of theelastic belt 24 are respectively fixed to the surroundingframe 21 and theseat 22. - In the figure, the surrounding
frame 21 is a circle with an inner circle and an outer circle. Theseat 22 has a circular edge at the side towards the back 23. Theelastic belt 24 is radially weaved to the circular edge of theseat 22. More particularly, elastic belts 24 are uniformly arranged and fixed to the circular edge ofseat 22 at one end, and the crossing (“intersection”) point of thebelts 24, if extended, is at the central line on thechair rest part 2, i.e., they are integrally symmetrical at both sides of the chair rest part central line and fan out symmetrically. - In
FIG. 2 , a Z shapedelastic rope 25 is tensioned at the back 23 to reinforce the supporting strength of the upper part of the back 23. The two ends of theelastic rope 25 are separately fixed to the surroundingframe 21. Theelastic rope 25 is at the back of (“behind”) theelastic belt 24 to improve the supporting force of the upper part, and the symmetrical chair rest part is provided with a varying shape. - In
FIG. 3 , thechair rest part 2 can be made by overlapped, radialelastic belts 24. The radialelastic belts 24 are divided into two groups, where the crossing points of extended lines from the two groups ofelastic belts 24 are distributed at both sides of thechair rest part 2 central line. That is one set of belts points to one side of the chair rest, and the other set of belts points to the other side of the chair. The two groups ofbelts 24 are overlapped with each other up and down (“over and under”). - In
FIG. 4 , the surrounding 21 is a square shape with an inner circle matched to a foldable chair with a square chair rest part. Theseat 22 has a circular edge at the side towards the back 23. One end of theelastic belt 24 is woven to the circular edge of theseat 22. Multipleelastic belts 24 are uniformly distributed in parallel. And to improve the stiff symmetrical shape, a Z-shapedelastic rope 25 is tensioned to the upper part of the back 23 to reinforce the back support and beautify the shape. - In all, the figures introduce three different chair rest parts. And especially the weaved structure of
elastic belt 24 is applicable for both a circular chair rest part and for a square chair rest part. The “weave” mentioned in this invention has two meanings, one is that multiple elastic belts are set between the seat and the surrounding frame into a back; and the other is that multiple elastic belts are woven in a designed pattern, and overlapped up and down (“over and under”) into a back. Furthermore, the elastic belts are tensioned, but not excessively tensioned, so that it provides an elastic deformation under sitting loads. The “radial” mentioned is similar with “radialized.” - While this invention has been described as having a preferred design, it is understood that it is capable of further modifications, uses and/or adaptations of the invention following in general the principle of the invention and including such departures from the present disclosure as come within the known or customary practice in the art to which the invention pertains and as maybe applied to the central features hereinbefore set forth, and fall within the scope of the invention and the limits of the appended claims. It is therefore to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the sole embodiment described above, but encompasses any and all embodiments within the scope of the following claims.
