Description
- This Application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/022,396, filed Jul. 9, 2014, which is hereby incorporated by reference.

- The present invention relates generally to the field of towel devices and more specifically relates to a towel that can be used after bathing, swimming, and any other activity that causes the body to be wet. It is intended to improve and/or maintain healthy skin integrity on the underside of the breasts which may be prone to fungus, eczema, skin tears and a host of other issues.
- Women often suffer with irritated skin in the area under their breasts. The elastic from their bras rubs the skin and retains moisture when they perspire, causing further irritation. During hot weather, this area and the bottom edge of their bras may be damp all the time. Itchy fungus and eczema will develop when it is always moist. Older women may develop tears in this tender skin as their skin thins with age. After bathing, this area never dries thoroughly as the breasts overlap and cover this area. Many women find it is easier and cooler to wrap a towel around their bodies after bathing, so they can dry as they do their hair and apply makeup, but this is uncomfortable to do when their breasts are unsupported.
- Various attempts have been made to solve the problems which may be found in the related art but have thus far been unsuccessful. A need exists for a reliable Support Towel to avoid the above-mentioned problems.
- In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known art, the present invention provides a novel Support Towel. The general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a towel that can be used after bathing, swimming, and any other activity that causes the body to be wet. It is intended to improve and/or maintain healthy skin integrity on the underside of the breasts which may be prone to fungus, eczema, skin tears and a host of other issues. The features of the invention which are believed to be novel are particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification. These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings and detailed description.
- Additional features and advantages of the invention will be set forth in the description which follows, and will be apparent from the description, or may be learned by practice of the invention. The foregoing general description and the following detailed description are exemplary and explanatory and are intended to provide further explanation of the invention.
- The accompanying drawings are included to provide a further understanding of the invention and are incorporated into and constitute a part of the specification. They illustrate one embodiment of the invention and, together with the description, serve to explain the principles of the invention.
-
FIG. 1 shows a front view of the first exemplary embodiment on a user, displaying thesupport towel 10, theband 12, thesupport straps 14, and thefasteners 18. -
FIG. 2 shows a back view of the first exemplary embodiment on a user, displaying thesupport towel 10, theband 12, and thesupport straps 14. -
FIG. 3 shows a front view of the first exemplary embodiment, displaying thesupport towel 10, theband 12, thesupport straps 14, thebreasts 16, and thefasteners 18. - The various embodiments of the present invention will hereinafter be described in conjunction with the appended drawings.
- As discussed above, embodiments of the present invention relate to a towel device and more particularly to a Support Towel.
- Referring now to the drawings
FIGS. 1-3 , The Support Towel 10 is designed for comfort and easy use. It is made of an extremely absorbent and soft stretchy terry-cloth or similar fabric. There is aband 12 of thicker, yet breathable fabric beneath thebreasts 16, and a plurality ofshoulder straps 14 to support thebreasts 16. - To put on the
support towel 10, the user will slip one arm under oneshoulder strap 14, and the other arm under theother shoulder strap 14. It is secured with a plurality offasteners 18. In one embodiment, onefastener 18 is a drawstring located above thebreasts 16 and anotherfastener 18 is a drawstring below thebreasts 16. The gathered fabric can be adjusted for comfort and to provide coverage needed. This could be worn as a comfy nightshirt with shorts, pants or a skirt made to match. This product will be available in different lengths and sizes, and withadjustable shoulder straps 14 so women of all sizes and shapes can enjoy the comfort of wearing this towel. There are endless variations possible, with different fabrics and pockets and added lace to make it sexier. A version may also be designed as a comfortable towel to be worn by men with breasts. - The unique features of this invention will provide the following benefits for all women: A
comfortable support towel 10 to wrap around a user's body after bathing, swimming and other activities, or when a woman just wants to be comfortable and cool on a warm day; Absorbs any moisture and provides coverage while supporting thebreasts 16; Made from an absorbent, soft fabric that breathes and supports without underwires and foam; Allows sensitive tissue beneath thebreasts 16 to air dry as thebreasts 16 are supported and not resting on the skin in this area; Theband 12 under the breasts is absorbent and non-binding and is moisture wicking. Theband 12 moves moisture away from the skin and spreading it across the fabric to enhance the fabric drying rate. These features make this a comfortable garment to be worn while applying make-up, doing one's hair, or preparing to dress; Thesupport towel 10 can be worn as an extra absorbent layer under a warm robe during cold weather. - While the foregoing written description of the invention enables one of ordinary skill to make and use what is presently considered to be the best mode thereof, those of ordinary skill in the art will understand and appreciate the existence of variations, combinations, and equivalents of the specific embodiment, method, and examples herein. The invention should, therefore, not be limited by the above described embodiment, method, and examples, but by all embodiments and methods within the scope and spirit of the invention.
