Abstract
An exemplary umbrella includes a handle to receive a motor, a fan, and a battery. The motor drives the fan to rotate when powered by the battery. The umbrella further includes a hollow support bar coupled to a top of the handle, and the support bar defines a number of receiving holes. A switch can be received in the support bar to actuate the motor when pressed. Each of a number of hollow umbrella ribs includes one end inserted into a corresponding receiving hole. Each umbrella rib can communicate with the support bar, and defines a number of through holes. A canopy is coupled to lower portions of the support ribs. When the fan rotates as driven by the motor, air from the support bar flows to the support ribs, and to the canopy via the through holes.
Description
- The present disclosure relates to umbrellas and, more particularly, to an umbrella that can dry quickly.
- Umbrellas are commonly used to shelter persons from the rain. When a umbrella with water droplets is taken into a room, the water droplets will start falling off the canopy of the umbrella onto the floor or get transferred to the surface that the umbrella is sitting on.
- Many aspects of the present disclosure can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The elements in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present disclosure. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the views, and all the views are schematic. The description is not to be considered as limiting the embodiments described herein.
-
FIG. 1 is an isometric view of an umbrella, in accordance with an exemplary embodiment. -
FIG. 2 is an exploded isometric view of the umbrella ofFIG. 1 in which a canopy is omitted. -
FIGS. 1-2 illustrate an exemplary embodiment of anumbrella 100. Theumbrella 100 includes anumbrella handle 10, asupport bar 11, anumbrella head 12, aswitch 15, a plurality ofumbrella ribs 30, and acanopy 20. - The
umbrella handle 10 can be a hollow cylinder, and can include abottom cap 60 at one end. Amotor 16, afan 17, and abattery 50 can be received in theumbrella handle 10. When powered by thebattery 50, themotor 16 can drive thefan 17 to rotate. Ajack 40 can be arranged in the side surface of theumbrella handle 10, and thebattery 50 can be charged via thejack 40 that can be coupled to an external power source. In the illustrated embodiment, motor 16, thefan 17, and thebattery 50 can be secured to thebottom cap 60. - The connecting
cables 18 can be coupled with theswitch 15 and themotor 16. Thesupport bar 11 can be coupled to the top of theumbrella handle 10. In the illustrated embodiment, thesupport bar 11 can be integrally formed with theumbrella handle 10. Thesupport bar 11 can be hollow and have a diameter less than a diameter of theumbrella handle 10. Theswitch 15 and the connectingcables 18 can be received in thesupport bar 11. Thesupport bar 11 can define anopening 13 in a lateral surface. Theswitch 15 can include abutton 25 received in theopening 13. When pressed down, thebutton 25 can actuate theswitch 15 to actuate themotor 16. - The
support bar 11 can further define a number of receivingholes 14 near the top. One end of each of thesupport ribs 30 can be inserted into a corresponding one of thereceiving holes 14. Eachsupport rib 30 can be hollow and communicate with thesupport bar 11. Thecanopy 20 can be coupled to lower portions of thesupport ribs 30, and give a person shelter from the sun, rain, or snow. A number of throughholes 31 can be defined along a lengthwise direction of eachsupport rib 30. In the illustrated embodiment, the throughholes 31 are defined at opposite sides of eachsupport rib 30 along a lengthwise direction. - The
umbrella head 12 can be rotatably coupled to the top of thesupport bar 11. Afixing rod 19 can protrude from theumbrella head 12, and can be received in thesupport bar 11. Theswitch 13 can be coupled to thefixing rod 19. - With the above configuration, when the
fan 17 is driven by themotor 16 to rotate, continuous air from thesupport bar 11 flows to thesupport ribs 30, and to thecanopy 20 via the throughholes 31, thereby quickly drying thecanopy 20. - Although the present disclosure has been specifically described on the basis of the exemplary embodiments thereof, the disclosure is not to be construed as being limited thereto. Various changes or modifications may be made to the embodiments without departing from the scope and spirit of the disclosure.
