Description
- This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 61/717,372, filed Oct. 23, 2012, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.
- The present invention relates to a device carrying pouch and, more particularly, to a device carrying pouch secured to a wrist of a user.
- Currently, many people have small devices, such as smart phones, cell phones, MP3 players, tablets, and the like. The devices may be easily misplaced when a user is multi tasking and especially if the user does not have pockets. Further, in certain situations, the devices may be hard to reach. Current cases available for the devices protect the device. However, the cases do not remedy the problems disclosed above.
- As can be seen, there is a need for an improved device case that may easily attach to the body of a user.
- In one aspect of the present invention, a device carrying apparatus comprises: a tubular wrist band formed to fit over and be secured to a wrist of a user; a top sheet and a bottom sheet connected together around a portion of a parameter of the top sheet and the bottom sheet to form a pouch in between, wherein an opening is formed between the top sheet and the bottom sheet where the top sheet and the bottom sheet are not connected, wherein the opening leads into the pouch; and an attachment component releasably attaching the top sheet and the bottom sheet at the opening, wherein the bottom sheet is attached to the tubular wrist band.
- These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention shown in use; -
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the present invention demonstrated in an open configuration; -
FIG. 3 is a top view of the present invention shown in use demonstrated in a closed configuration; and -
FIG. 4 is a top view of the present invention shown in use demonstrated in an open configuration. - The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
- Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a wrist band having a pouch for a device, such as a smart phone, tablet, cell phone, MP3 player and the like. The present invention may include a top sheet and a bottom sheet connected together around a parameter to from the pouch within. The present invention may further include an attachment component used to open and close an opening that leads into the pouch. The present invention may further include multiple pouches and windows sewn into the pouches.
- The present invention may include a forearm or wrist pouch for storage and easy access to a cell phone, smart phone, tablet, MP3 player and the like. Cell phones, smart phones, tablets and MP3 players are easily misplaced and/or lost. The present invention provides a comfortable fitting, line-of-sight visible storage pouch for rapid and easy access, and can be personalized for individual identification.
- Referring to
FIGS. 1 through 4 , the present invention may include awrist pouch 10. Thewrist pouch 10 may include atubular wrist band 12 with an attacheddevice pouch 16. Thedevice pouch 16 may be formed of atop sheet 26 and abottom sheet 50 connected together around a portion of a parameter of thetop sheet 26 and thebottom sheet 50. Anopening 30 is formed between thetop sheet 26 and thebottom sheet 50 where thetop sheet 26 and thebottom sheet 50 are not connected. The opening 30 leads into thedevice pouch 16. Anattachment component top sheet 26 and thebottom sheet 50 to close theopening 30. - The
tubular wrist band 12 is formed to fit over thewrist 22 of an exemplary user. In certain embodiments, thetubular wrist band 12 may be a fabric or ribbon sewn together in a tubular shape. In certain embodiments, thetubular wrist band 12 may be made of an elastic material so that thetubular wrist band 12 may snuggly fit on a user and may be a one size fits all. In other embodiments, thetubular wrist band 12 may be anadjustable wrist band 12, using at least one of a buckle and a hook and loop fastener. - In certain embodiments, the
device pouch 16 may include a top end, a bottom end, a first side, and a second side. The opening 30 may be formed at the top end. In certain embodiments, aflap 14 may extend from the top end of thebottom sheet 50. Theflap 14 may fold over the opening 30. In certain embodiments, theflap 14 may include theattachment component top sheet 26 to cover the opening, securing devices, such as asmart phone 24 within thepouch 16. Theflap 14 may be decorated with adesign 46. However, thedesign 46 is not limited to theflap 14 and theentire wrist pouch 10 may be designed and personalized. - The present invention may further include multiple pouches. As illustrated in the Figures, a
small pouch sheet 28 may be attached to thetop sheet 26 around a portion of a parameter of thesmall pouch sheet 28. Asmall pouch 18 is formed in between thesmall pouch sheet 28 and thetop sheet 26 and asmall pouch opening 32 is formed between thetop sheet 26 and thesmall pouch sheet 28 where thetop sheet 26 and thesmall pouch sheet 26 at not connected. The small pouch opening 32 leads into thesmall pouch 18. Thesmall pouch sheet 28 may further include awindow 20 sewn into it to be able to see the contents within thesmall pouch 18. - The present invention may further include a
headphones pouch 40. Theheadphones pouch 40 may be sewn into thewrist pouch 10 at any location. For example, as illustrated, theheadphones pouch 40 may be sewn into theflap 14 so that a user may easily store theirheadphones 36. Anearphone pouch sheet 38 may be sewn to thewrist pouch 10 around a portion of the parameter of theearphone pouch sheet 38, forming theheadphones pouch 40 within. When the user is ready to use anMP3 player 34 within thewrist pouch 40, the user may open theflap 12 and have access to both theheadphones 36 and theMP3 player 34. - As mentioned above, the present invention may include an
attachment component headphones pouch 40. Theattachment component hook fastener 44 may be attached to thesmall pouch sheet 28 and aloop fastener 42 may be attached to theflap 14. Therefore, a user may place anMP3 player 32 within thesmall pouch 18, asmart device 24 within thedevice pouch 16 and may releasably attach theflap 14 to thesmall pouch sheet 28, thereby securing theMP3 player 32 and thesmart device 24 within thewrist pouch 10. - A method of making the present invention may include the following. The material may be first cut into a rectangle shape, approximately 11½ inches long and 4½ inches wide. A piece of elastic is then cut 6½ inches long and 1¼ inches wide. Next, two pieces of fabric or ribbon is cut, both pieces are 10½ inches long and 2¼ inches wide. The elastic is stretched and sewn inside the two pieces of material or ribbon. These two pieces of material or ribbon are sewn on both sides with approximately a ⅛ inch seam, which creates a gathered wristband. The pouch or pocket is then laid flat, perpendicular across the middle of the gathered wristband of fabric or ribbon to form a cross, with approximately 3¾ inches of the pouch extending upward to form the cross section. This will create the opening for the top of the pouch. The inside of the pouch is then securely sewn to the gathered wristband ¼ inch on the inward seam at the cross section of the pouch, leaving ¼ inch for the outer edge. Next, the bottom of the pouch is folded upward and the sides are sewn to the ¼ inch edge which now forms the pouch. The top portion of the pouch, ½ inch is folded and sewn down; then the remainder of the top is folded over the opening of the pouch and is secured using a variety of closures. Attached to the back side of the pouch is the elastic enclosed wristband and firmly sewn to the pouch. The ends of the wristband are sewn together to form a closed loop. The loop is then slipped over the wrist or moved up to the forearm based on individual preference.
- It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
