Abstract
TP Weights 5 is A Weighted Training Tennis Racquet for Actual Tennis practice.
The Racquet helps develop, strengthen, condition the major muscles and tendons used for Tennis. A tennis players arms and wrist, shoulders, back, neck, abdomen all benefit from this device. The Racquet when weighted in accordance with the invention will increase the strength, control and power of its user when practicing the game of Tennis. This device has a NEW AND IMPROVED SCREW ON BOTTOM CAP WITH RUBBER BUMPER securing the weights and weight Spacers in place inside of the handle and reducing impact vibrations. The handle opens at the bottom of the Racquet, allowing the NEW AND IMPROVED ABS PLACTIC-MOLDED weighted metal bars which also reduce impact vibration, to be inserted for desired weight and light plastic weight spacers to fill space in chamber for less weight. Keeping desired weights from shifting.
Description
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded view to show Racquet fully assembled. -
FIG. 2 is an exploded view to show Racquet's full assembly. -
FIG. 2 shows bottom throat portion of 1 Standard Tennis Racquet - Head connects to 2 top half of Casting Connector.
- Bottom portion of 2 Casting Connector connects to 3 Racquet Handle top portion.
- 3 Racquet Handle bottom portion connects to 4 End Casting, opposite screw end. 5 End Cap with hole in the center, screws tight and securely.
- 9 End Bumper is pushed securely into hole of bottom portion on 5 End Cap, to help secure weight inside of handle and reduce Racquet vibration.
- 8 Standard Tennis Racquet Grip that is rapped around 3 Racquet Handle.
- 6 Oval/Octagon shaped ABS Plastic-Molded Metal Weights, which go inside of assembled 3 Racquet Handle, 4 End Casting and secured into place by 5 End Cap and 9 End Bumper to increase Racquets weight.
- About ten Metal Weights.
- 7 Plastic Weight Spacers which also are inserted into 3 Racquet Handle, 4 End Casting and secured into place by 5 End Cap and 9 End Bumper to decrease weight and fill space where a weight was taken out.
- Prior art U.S. Pat. No. 2,028,291 to McPherson, issued Jan. 21, 1936. This invention was devised to enable the centre of gravity of such implements to be adjusted as required. This desiderata being effected by providing an axial recess within the handle wherein a weight is housed having device to adjust it position longitudinally of said recess and device to retain said weight in any such adjusted position. Nice device but not made for increased adjustable weights, for weight training.
- Prior art U.S. Pat. No. 3,116,926 to Owen, issued Jan. 7, 1964. This invention relates to improvements in baseball bat and more particularly relates to an improved form of weighted baseball bat adapted to improve the batting ability of the batter. Also a great invention, but it's focus is for baseball not tennis or any other sport.
- Prior art U.S. Pat. No. 4,325,549 to Vasselli, issued Apr. 20, 1982. This device has a movable weight and a latching device for release of the weight which is moved by swinging of the racket to bring the weight to or near head of of the racquet. Another great device, but it's focus is movement in racquet not heavy weight for training.
- Prior art U.S. Pat. No. 5,054,780 to Chen, issued Oct. 8, 1991. This device is a weight adjustable tennis racquet comprises a head frame and handle, wherein, at least one elastic counter-weight holder with a plurallity of counter weights can be attached to head frame. Another wonderful invention, buts it focus is more weights and balances for adjusting racquets balance not weight increase for strength and conditioning.
- Prior art U.S. Pat. No. 5,593,155 to Fauble, issues Jan. 14, 1997. This device is A simulated racket. Great device. Not an actual tennis racquet that can be played in tennis.
- Prior art U.S. Pat. No. 6,159,115 to Hsu, issued Dec. 12, 2000. This device is a handle for a racket includes a handle part from which an engaging section longitudinally extends. Great again, but it's focus is a racquet extender.
- Prior art U.S. Pat. No. 6,623,383 to Matsuoka, issued Sep. 23, 2003. This device comprising the face portion and a closed tube enclosing a slidable weight weighing 2 g to 10 g is embedded in the groove. Terrific invention, but it's focus is another slidable weight for balancing racquet while playing, not weight increase for strength and power.
- Prior art U.S. Pat. No. 6,998,968 to Okamoto, issued Jan. 24, 2006. This invention relates to a grip end bottom weight and a grip end bottom weighting structure for a ball-hitting implement. Wonderful invention, but differs because weight is geared to bottom butt end of racquet and outside grip. Which can limit amount of maximum weight.
- Prior art U.S. Pat. No. 7,553,239 to Pullaro, issued Jun. 30, 2009. This invention relates to a sports training and conditioning device, and in particular to a device for training and conditioning in sports which use an implement, such as a bat, a club, a racket, or stick. Although a great simulator, it lacks in real practical tennis playing experience.
- Prior art International Pat. No. DE 102007024137 to Punzag, issued Nov. 27, 2008. This invention comprises racket head and grip, and multiple containers are embedded in frame of racket head area or fixed at frame. But another great invention which is focused on weight balancing, for hitting ball harder, not multiple weights, for weight training and muscle building.
- Prior art International Pat. No. WO9414506 to Rice, issued Jul. 7, 1994.This invention relates generally to apparatus and a method for extending the length of conventional sports rackets, and more particularly, to a handle extender for conventional tennis rackets. The main focus of this invention is for extending the tennis racket, weight for balance of extension, not weight training.
- Prior art U.S. Pat. No. 13/199,923 to Mackie Apr. 19, 2012. This device was created as a working prototype. Tested and works well but has slight vibration on Racquet to ball contact. And more costly then new model T/
P Weights 5 to make. T/P Weights 5 was designed for manufacturing Improvements are End Bumper to hold weights secure in place and reduce slight vibration in Racquet. Also ABS Plastic-Molded Metal Weights, which reduce vibration in Racquet plus better look, feel and safety for its handlers.
Claims (1)
1. We claim this is an actual weight adjustable tennis racquet, that can actually be used to play tennis: Comprising a handle that unscrews at the bottom of the Tennis Racquet, which allows oval/octagon shaped NEW AND IMPROVED ABS PLASTIC-MOLDED weighted blocks, made of steal or other hard solid metals for increased heavy weight.
We claim that NEW AND IMPROVED ABS PLASTIC-METAL WEIGHTS make the Racquet more functional by decreased contact vibration.
We claim oval/octagon shaped light weight block Spacers that decrease weight and fill space where weight blocks would be in the hollow Racquet handle opening. The screw on bottom cap which holds weights and plastics Spacers safe and secure inside of hollow Racquet handle.
We claim that weighted oval/octagon shaped block ABS PLASTIC-MOLDED METAL weights range from ounces up to about 10 pounds. Ranging in various type of metals, steal, lead, tungsten or a composite of metals. Racquet has a threaded screw cap bottom that holds it all in place.
We claim that NEW AND IMPROVED END CAP WITH RUBBER BUMPER, not only helps to hold the weights and weight spacers in the handle securely, but mainly help to reduce Racquet Vibration during impact.
We claim that the TP Weights 5 Handle is for Tennis Racquets, but not limited to. The TP Weights 5 Handle may be used for other sports such as Golf, Baseball, Racket Ball, Lacrosse and others sports having a handle.
