Abstract
A shoe with a replaceable decorative cover comprises a shoe mechanically coupled to a loop fastener where the loop fastener is mechanically coupled to a hook fastener. A decorative cover is mechanically coupled to the hook fastener, and the decorative cover comprises a top side and a bottom side.
Description
- This invention relates decorating shoes and making decorative shoes.
- There are several theories of decorating shoes, but all of which teach away from the current invention. U.S. Pat. No. 6,874,256 issued to Grant Verdun Delgatty describes a method for changing a design of a shoe by removing a vamp, applying a new design to the vamp and then reattaching the vamp. The vamp is aligned with a hook and loop fastener, but it is mechanically coupled to the shoe primarily by a zipper. Assuming the device worked, the difficulties with zippers on shoes are that the zipper can be easily fouled further the Delgatty reference teaches only a partial shoe cover, where the current invention teaches a complete shoe cover.
- U.S. Pat. App. No. U.S. 2006/0143951 A1 by Wu-Bin Yang describes a series of decals that can be mechanically coupled to a shoe by an adhesive. The usage of the adhesive teaches away from the present invention which utilizes a hook and loop fastener.
- U.S. Pat. App. No. 2010/0289971 A1 by David Odland describes a shoe that contains a flexible LCD monitor that can display computer generated images. Here, the LCD monitor is built into the shoe and teaches away from the removable cover in the present invention.
- A shoe with a replaceable decorative cover comprises a shoe mechanically coupled to a loop fastener where the loop fastener is mechanically coupled to a hook fastener. A decorative cover is mechanically coupled to the hook fastener, and the decorative cover comprises a top side and a bottom side.
- Having thus described the invention in general terms, reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings, which are not necessarily drawn to scale, and wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the invention shown in use. -
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the invention. -
FIG. 3 is a flat pattern view of the decorative cover top side. -
FIG. 4 is a flat pattern view of the decorative cover bottom side. - Embodiments of the present invention overcome many of the obstacles associated with applying a temporary cover to a shoe, and now will be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings that show some, but not all embodiments of the claimed inventions. Indeed, the invention may be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein. Rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will satisfy applicable legal requirements. Like numbers refer to like elements throughout.
-
FIG. 1 shows the invention in use.Shoe 12 is shown mechanically coupled todecorative cover 10.Decorative cover 10 comprises a top side and a bottom side as shown inFIG. 3 andFIG. 4 . -
FIG. 2 is an assembly drawing of the invention. Here, shoe 12 is shown comprisinghook fastener 14. The inside ofdecorative cover 10 comprisesloop fastener 14. Notice that hook fastener can cover an entire outer surface ofshoe 12. -
FIG. 3 shows the top side ofdecorative cover 10. The top side ofdecorative cover 10 has a surface that can be decorated in a large number of ways. For instance, there can be a preprinted design ondecorative cover 10 or a user can apply a design to an otherwise blankdecorative cover 10. -
FIG. 4 shows the bottom side ofdecorative cover 10. The bottom side ofdecorative cover 10 compriseshook fastener 14. Hook fastener 14 andloop fastener 14 are combined to produce hook andloop fastener 14. Depending on the strength of hook and loop fastener 14 desired by the user, hook fastener 14 can cover some or an entire bottom side ofdecorative cover 10. Similarly, loop fastener 14 can cover some or an entire outer surface ofshoe 12.
