Each dustproof housing includes a back wall, a plurality of sidewalls extending from the periphery of the back wall, and a front wall opposite to the back wall. The front wall of the dustproof housing defines a working opening and an exhaust opening positioned below the working opening. Each polishing wheel is received in the working opening. Each dust collector is received in one dustproof housing below the polishing wheel, and exposed to the outside via the exhaust opening. Each exhaust tube is fixed to the back wall of the dustproof housing and communicating with the interior of the dustproof housing.

Description

    BACKGROUND
  • 1. Technical Field
  • The present disclosure relates to polishing apparatuses, particularly to a polishing apparatus with a dustproof housing.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • Surface polishing is a process of creating a smooth and shiny surface by repetitive rubbing a surface of a workpiece. It is well known that polishing will produce a lot of dust. The dust generated by a polishing apparatus configured with a poor exhaust device will pollute the air in the workspace, which could be hazardous to workers in the work areas.
  • Therefore, there is room for improvement in the art.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • Many aspects of the disclosure can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the inspecting system for lens module. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views. Wherever possible, the same reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to refer to the same or like elements of an embodiment.
  • FIG. 1 is a front isometric view of an embodiment of a polishing apparatus.
  • FIG. 2 is a rear isometric view of the polishing apparatus with a back wall of the polishing apparatus shown in FIG. 1 removed.
  • FIG. 3 is a rear isometric view of the polishing apparatus of FIG. 1.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • FIGS. 1-3 show an embodiment of a polishing apparatus 100. The polishing apparatus 100 includes a base seat 20, a motor 11, two polishing wheels 1, two dustproof housings 14, and two sliding guides 9. The motor 11 is located on top of the base seat 20. The two polishing wheels 1 are rotatably sleeved on opposite ends of the motor 20, and are housed in the two dustproof housings 14, respectively. Each of the two sliding guides 9 is positioned in the inner surface of one corresponding dustproof housing 14.
  • Two rotating shafts 111 are formed at opposite ends of the motor 11, and the two polishing wheels 1 are sleeved on the two rotating shafts 111, respectively. The dustproof housings 14 are substantially box-shaped. The dustproof housings 14 each includes a back wall 141 (see FIG. 3), four sidewalls 143 perpendicularly extending from the periphery of the back wall 141, and a front wall 145 opposite to the back wall 141. In the illustrated embodiment, the front wall 145 is a curved surface, and defines a working opening 12 and an exhaust opening 16 located below the working opening 12. In the illustrated embodiment, each sliding guide 9 is positioned between one working opening 12 and one exhaust opening 16. Each working opening 12 and each exhaust opening 16 are covered with a cover 3, for a total of four covers 3. In some embodiments, the covers 3 may be made of transparent material. In FIG. 1, the covers 3 for the exhaust openings 16 are omitted for better viewing of the interior of the dustproof housing 14. Each cover 3 covering the working opening 12 defines a feed opening 13 adjacent to the corresponding exhaust opening 16. It is apparent that the size and the shape of the feed opening 13 can be changed according to particular need.
  • The polishing apparatus 100 further includes two shielding boards 2, two working lights 7, two switches 8, two exhaust tubes 4, and two dust collectors 6. The shielding boards 2 are respectively fixed in the dustproof housings 14 above the polishing wheels 1. Each dust collector 6 is received in one corresponding dustproof housing 14, and is located below one corresponding polishing wheel 1 for accumulating dust. In the illustrated embodiment, each dust collector 6 is in a shape of a V-shaped funnel, the larger end of each dust collector 6 is slidably engaged with one sliding guide 9, and each dust collector 6 can be pulled and then slid along the sliding guide 9 out of the dustproof housing 14 through the exhaust opening 16. A grip 10 is formed on the outer surface of each dust collector 6 for facilitating pulling of the dust collector 6 along the sliding guide 9.
  • Each working light 7 is positioned on the outer surface of one front wall 145 above the working opening 12. Each switch 8 is positioned at one sidewall 143 for controlling the corresponding working light 7. Each exhaust tube 4 is fixed to the back wall 141, and communicates with the interior of one corresponding dustproof housing 14. An angle of each exhaust tube 4 relative to the corresponding back wall 141 is in a range from about 70 degrees to about 80 degrees to enable smooth airflow. In the illustrated embodiment, the angle of each exhaust tube 4 relative to the corresponding back wall 141 is 75 degrees.
  • The exhaust tube 4 guides air out of the dustproof housing 14, and the dust generated by the polishing apparatus 100 will be dropped into the dust collector 6 with the help of the shielding board 2, which can prevent the dust from being release or spread into the outside air. It is apparent that one dustproof housing 14 may be omitted, while only one polishing wheel 1 is needed to make a polishing apparatus in another embodiment.
  • It is believed that the present embodiments and their advantages will be understood from the foregoing description, and it will be apparent that various changes may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the embodiments or sacrificing all of its material advantages.
