Each dustproof housing includes a back wall, a plurality of sidewalls extending from the periphery of the back wall, and a front wall opposite to the back wall. The front wall of the dustproof housing defines a working opening and an exhaust opening positioned below the working opening. Each polishing wheel is received in the working opening. Each dust collector is received in one dustproof housing below the polishing wheel, and exposed to the outside via the exhaust opening. Each exhaust tube is fixed to the back wall of the dustproof housing and communicating with the interior of the dustproof housing.
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present disclosure relates to polishing apparatuses, particularly to a polishing apparatus with a dustproof housing.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Surface polishing is a process of creating a smooth and shiny surface by repetitive rubbing a surface of a workpiece. It is well known that polishing will produce a lot of dust. The dust generated by a polishing apparatus configured with a poor exhaust device will pollute the air in the workspace, which could be hazardous to workers in the work areas.
- Therefore, there is room for improvement in the art.
- Many aspects of the disclosure can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the inspecting system for lens module. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views. Wherever possible, the same reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to refer to the same or like elements of an embodiment.

FIG. 1 is a front isometric view of an embodiment of a polishing apparatus. -
FIG. 2 is a rear isometric view of the polishing apparatus with a back wall of the polishing apparatus shown inFIG. 1 removed. -
FIG. 3 is a rear isometric view of the polishing apparatus ofFIG. 1 . -
FIGS. 1-3 show an embodiment of apolishing apparatus 100. Thepolishing apparatus 100 includes abase seat 20, amotor 11, twopolishing wheels 1, twodustproof housings 14, and twosliding guides 9. Themotor 11 is located on top of thebase seat 20. The twopolishing wheels 1 are rotatably sleeved on opposite ends of themotor 20, and are housed in the twodustproof housings 14, respectively. Each of the twosliding guides 9 is positioned in the inner surface of one correspondingdustproof housing 14. - Two rotating
shafts 111 are formed at opposite ends of themotor 11, and the twopolishing wheels 1 are sleeved on the two rotatingshafts 111, respectively. Thedustproof housings 14 are substantially box-shaped. Thedustproof housings 14 each includes a back wall 141 (seeFIG. 3 ), four sidewalls 143 perpendicularly extending from the periphery of theback wall 141, and afront wall 145 opposite to theback wall 141. In the illustrated embodiment, thefront wall 145 is a curved surface, and defines a workingopening 12 and anexhaust opening 16 located below the workingopening 12. In the illustrated embodiment, eachsliding guide 9 is positioned between one working opening 12 and one exhaust opening 16. Each working opening 12 and eachexhaust opening 16 are covered with acover 3, for a total of fourcovers 3. In some embodiments, thecovers 3 may be made of transparent material. InFIG. 1 , thecovers 3 for theexhaust openings 16 are omitted for better viewing of the interior of thedustproof housing 14. Eachcover 3 covering the workingopening 12 defines afeed opening 13 adjacent to thecorresponding exhaust opening 16. It is apparent that the size and the shape of thefeed opening 13 can be changed according to particular need. - The
polishing apparatus 100 further includes twoshielding boards 2, twoworking lights 7, twoswitches 8, twoexhaust tubes 4, and twodust collectors 6. Theshielding boards 2 are respectively fixed in thedustproof housings 14 above thepolishing wheels 1. Eachdust collector 6 is received in one correspondingdustproof housing 14, and is located below onecorresponding polishing wheel 1 for accumulating dust. In the illustrated embodiment, eachdust collector 6 is in a shape of a V-shaped funnel, the larger end of eachdust collector 6 is slidably engaged with onesliding guide 9, and eachdust collector 6 can be pulled and then slid along thesliding guide 9 out of thedustproof housing 14 through theexhaust opening 16. Agrip 10 is formed on the outer surface of eachdust collector 6 for facilitating pulling of thedust collector 6 along thesliding guide 9. - Each working
light 7 is positioned on the outer surface of onefront wall 145 above the workingopening 12. Eachswitch 8 is positioned at one sidewall 143 for controlling thecorresponding working light 7. Eachexhaust tube 4 is fixed to theback wall 141, and communicates with the interior of one correspondingdustproof housing 14. An angle of eachexhaust tube 4 relative to thecorresponding back wall 141 is in a range from about 70 degrees to about 80 degrees to enable smooth airflow. In the illustrated embodiment, the angle of eachexhaust tube 4 relative to thecorresponding back wall 141 is 75 degrees. - The
exhaust tube 4 guides air out of thedustproof housing 14, and the dust generated by thepolishing apparatus 100 will be dropped into thedust collector 6 with the help of theshielding board 2, which can prevent the dust from being release or spread into the outside air. It is apparent that onedustproof housing 14 may be omitted, while only onepolishing wheel 1 is needed to make a polishing apparatus in another embodiment. - It is believed that the present embodiments and their advantages will be understood from the foregoing description, and it will be apparent that various changes may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the embodiments or sacrificing all of its material advantages.
