Abstract
The present invention relates to a multifunctional chair which is configured to train, rehabilitate, and correct the back spine, pelvis and knee joints of the user. The angle of inclination of a seat member can be adjusted arbitrarily to the front, rear, left and right, thereby preventing back injury due to a sharp angle of inclination from the outset, while at the same time completely preventing rocking of the seat member when back exercises are not being carried out and thus allowing the chair to be used as a general chair. A rolling member provided in a lower part of the seat is improved, thereby imparting a cushioned feel to the seat while restricting the range of tilting movement of the seat to only front-and-back, left-and-right and multidirectional and preventing rotation in such a way as to limit excessive rocking of the seat overall and hence prevent side effects from seated exercises.
Description
- The present invention relates to a multifunctional chair which aims at training, rehabilitating and correcting a users back spine, pelvises and knee joints, and in particular to a multifunctional chair which is directed to preventing a waist injury which might occur due to a sharp slope angle when a user first sits by providing a function of freely adjusting a slope angle in forward, backward, leftward and rightward directions, and when a waist is not exercised, it is possible to prevent well the movements of a seat member, thus being used as an ordinary chair. The sitting seat is made to have a good cushion feeling by improving a rolling member provided beneath a seat, and the movement range of a slope of a seat is limited to a forward and backward direction and a leftward and rightward direction and multiple directions, respectively, whereas the rotation is prevented, thus limiting an over movement of a sitting seat in whole and preventing a side effect in terms of a sitting type exercise.
- There are various types of exercise tools which help do a proper exercise for each part of a human body and help rehabilitate a hurt or weakened portion of it. A multifunctional chair which is a similar one among multiple tools is disclosed in Korean patent application number 10-2005-40701.
- As shown in
FIG. 1 , a back spine correction apparatus formed of a gas cylinder disposed at an upper side of a support having a moving member at its lower side, a rod inserted in an upward and downward movable way into the interior of the gas cylinder, and a lower member formed of a gas absorber inserted in a movable way in the interior and protruded from the upper side of the rod comprises ahousing 24 in which an outward protrusion part 22 is formed, with a vertical hole 22 a, into which the top of the rod 16 is inserted, passing through the outward protrusion part 22, and an inner side protrusion part 23 with an insertion groove 23 a is integrally formed, and a gas absorber operation member 30 is provided for the purpose of operating the gas absorber 18; an ascending and descendingmovement device 20 which is formed of ahousing casing 27 fixedly engaged at the top of thehousing 24; a rolling means B which is disposed between thehousing casing 27 and the lower side of the seat member 1 and has an unlocking member 60 for selectively retaining the rolling and unrolling with respect to the seat member 1; a rotation support plate 82 which is rotatably fixed at either inner side of thehousing 24 by way of a horizontal rotation shaft 81 and which is protruded from the backside of thehousing 24; a backrest frame 83 which is fixedly engaged to the interior of the backside of the rotation support plate 82 and is spun (tilted) and supported in the outward direction by way of a tilting support means C, and a backrest tilting device 80 which is provided at a front side region of thehousing 24 and has a tilting unlocking means D for unlocking the tilted state in an outward direction of the backrest frame 83. - In addition, as shown in
FIG. 2 , the rolling means B comprises a rolling casing 52 which is fixedly engaged at a lower, central region of the seat member 1 and in which a cushion protrusion part 50 having a bearing rolling groove 50 a is formed at a lower, central region, and a cushion protrusion 51 with a cushion groove 51 a is integrally formed at an upper, central region; a rollingbearing 54 which is elastically inserted in the bearing rolling groove 50 a and performs a rotation rolling movement at a proper angle and which is fixed at an outer surface of a through hole 27 a of an upper side of thehousing casing 27; a fixing bolt 55 which passes through the through hole 27 a of thehousing casing 27 and the inner diameter of the rollingbearing 54, a fixing nut 56 which is fixedly engaged to the fixing bolt 55 for thereby fixing the fixing bolt 55 to thehousing casing 27, acushion member 57 which is pressed and fixed at an upper, outer side of the fixing bolt 55 and is inserted to protrude from the inner side of the cushion groove 51 a of the cushion protrusion 51 to the outside and is made from an urethane material; and a unlocking member 60 which is closely disposed between the upper side of thehousing casing 27 and the rolling protrusion part 50 for thereby selectively retaining the rolling and unrolling states of the seat member 1. - However, in the above described conventional multifunctional chair, the rolling mean B is characterized in that the slope angle of the rolling in terms of the seat member 1 is determined by means of a
cushion member 57 made from a urethane material, when the elasticity of thecushion member 57 is weakened or it is damaged, the shape of the seat member 1 is deformed in one direction or the slope angles of the forward, backward, leftward and rightward directions become inaccurate, so the injuries of the users such as weak persons might be worsened. Since there is not a means for fixing the seat member 1 in place, not to move, in the conventional art, it is needed for a user to sit after he adjusts the seat member 1 to a normal position, thus causing, any inconveniences. - Since there is not a means for adjusting a slope angle of the seat member 1 in a conventional art, when an old or weak person or a user who suffers from a weak waist sits carelessly, since the slope angle that the seat member 1 inclines at is too large, a user might have a waist injury.
- The conventional multifunctional chair comprise a moving means which is movable being supported on the ground, a gas absorber which is upright installed at the moving means for thereby adjusting the height of the seat, a fixing bracket which is installed at the top of the gas absorber and has a height adjusting part with a three-stage fixing shoulder at its outer surface and integrally has a vertical rod at its center, the vertical rod having an engaging hole at its top, a seat support member which has a connection boss part having at its center an installation hole guiding a vertical rod provided at the center of the fixing bracket, the upper side of the seat support member being connected with the lower side of the sitting seat, a rolling adjusting lever which passes through the rolling member disposed between the seat support member and the fixing bracket and integrally has a slope angle adjusting shoulder at the inner diameter for thereby being selectively engaged with the three-stage fixing shoulder of the height adjusting part for thereby adjusting in multiple stages the height of the seat support member with respect to the rolling member, and a spherical bearing and a spherical bussing which are engaged at the end portions of the engaging bolt and the vertical rod engaged to the vertical rod of the fixing bracket from the upper side of the seat support member for thereby inducing the movements of the central portions of the seat support member.
- However, in the above described conventional multifunctional chair, the rolling of the sitting seat contributes to adjusting step by step the rolling slope by adjusting the height of the seat support member by way of the rolling adjusting lever by adapting the vertical rod of the fixing bracket as an axis; however the rolling operation has a problem that it spins out of the movement ranges in the forward, backward, leftward and rightward directions of the sitting seat, so the over movements of the seat might cause side effects in terms of the sitting type exercise.
- It is disadvantageous that the cushion feeling of the sitting seat is generally worsened in whole in the range of limiting the rolling operations, which results in the degradation of the chair which actually has both chair function and exercise function.

height adjusting part 132 of thefixing bracket 130 corresponding to the connection boss part 141 of theseat plate 140 engaging the rolling member 150, and said rolling member 150 is characterized in that a hexagonalengaging part 152 is formed at the upper and lower portions in a hollow shape to accommodate therein the vertical rod, and aspiral body 154 is formed between the hexagonalengaging part 152, and a compression spring 156 is provided at the inner side of thebody 154 for preventing the twisting of the rolling member 150 together with the cushion function of the sitting seat. - The
body 154 of the rolling member 150 is made from a rubber material of a urethane. - The operations and effects of the multifunctional chair according to the present invention will be described.
- First of all, the height adjusting part 630 of the rolling adjusting part 600 is engaged to the adjusting part 610 of the upper side of the fixing bracket 500. Here, as the
stopper 631 of the height adjusting part 630 is engaged to the fixing shoulder 620 of the outer surface of the adjusting part 610 and the lever 632 of one side of the height adjusting part 630 is tilted, as shown inFIGS. 5 and 6 , the upper side of the height adjusting part 630 comes into contact with the circular protrusion part 411 provided beneath theseat plate 410 or comes distanced from it for thereby preventing the rolling of theseat member 400 or coming to sequentially adjusting the rolling angles of it. - Next, the
spring 310 is engaged to the spring insertion hole 633 of the height adjusting part 630 and is mounted at the vertical rod 520, and the engaging bolt 330 is forced to pass through the ball bearing 321 of the spherical plane 320 engaged with theseat plate 410 and is engaged with anut 340 in the interior of the operation space part 550 of the lower side of the vertical rod 520, so the separatedseat member 400 and fixing bracket 500 are engaged with each other. - At this time, the lower end portion of the
spring 310 is engaged to the fixing groove 640 formed at one side of the adjusting part 610 with a fixing shoulder 620. The upper end portion of thespring 310 is engaged to the fixing groove (not shown) formed at one side of the fixing shoulder 620 of the lower side of theseat plate 410, so theseat member 400 of the upper side of theseat plate 410 does not move in a leftward or rightward direction, namely, it always stays in normal place. - The operation lever 554 is fixed, in an operation possible way with the engaging pin 555, at the installation hole 551 connected with the lateral side of the operation space part 550 of the lower side of the fixing bracket 500, and one end of the operation lever 554 inserted into the inner side of the two-stage operation hole 552 is matched with the gas absorber 221 of the operation rod 220.
- When it is supposed to perform a waste exercise after the multifunctional chair is assembled in the above mentioned manner, a user sits at the
seat member 400. At this time, theseat member 400 keeps a horizontal state by means of the elastic force of thespring 310; however it is connected in a rolling possible way by means of only the ball bearing 321 of the spherical plane 320, so a user who for the first time uses a multifunctional chair might feel a little unstable, so it is preferred to reduce a little the rolling angle of theseat member 400 for thereby preventing injuries which might occur due to the sharply changing rolling angle. - In other words, as shown in (b) of
FIG. 6 , the multifunctional chair at the first stage has astopper 631 at the fixing shoulder 620 of the lower most portion. At this time, as shown in (a) ofFIG. 5 , since the interval between the height adjusting part 630 and the protrusion part 411 of theseat plate 410 is too large, the tilting angle of theseat member 400 in the forward, backward, leftward or rightward is about 20°, too large angle. - As for the user who uses for the first time or the weak or old user, it is needed to tilt the lever 632 of the rolling adjusting part 600 in one direction. As shown in (c) of
FIG. 6 , thestopper 631 travels over the fixing shoulder 620 positioned at the intermediate portion, so the interval between the height adjusting part 630 and the protrusion part 411 is narrowed, and the tilting angle of theseat member 400 in the forward, backward, leftward or rightward direction becomes above 10°, so as such the user is prevented from injured. - In addition, when it is supposed to use the multifunctional chair as an ordinary chair, it is needed to move the
stopper 631 up to the fixing shoulder 620 of the upper most portion. At this time, as shown in (b) ofFIG. 5 , the adjusting part 630 and the protrusion part 411 become closer to each other, so the rolling phenomenon of the chair does not take place. - When the lever 632 of the rolling adjusting part 600 is tilted in the direction which is opposite the above-mentioned direction, as shown in (a) of
FIG. 6 , thestopper 631 descends to the fixing shoulder 620 positioned at the lower most portion, thus increasing the interval between the adjusting part 630 and the protrusion part 411. At this time, the user does exercise moving his waste in the forward, backward, leftward or rightward direction. Since the wrinkle tube 700 made from a rubber material is installed between the upper side of the height adjusting part 630 and the protrusion part 411 of the lower side of theseat plate 410, the height adjusting part 630 can very easily descend with the aid of elastic force of the wrinkle tube 700, and as such it is possible to cover the upper side of the height adjusting part 630 and the protrusion part 411 of the lower side of theseat plate 410 not to be seen from the outside. - When it is needed to conduct the ascending and descending exercise with the multifunctional chair, the adjusting part 630 and the protrusion part 411 are forced to be close in order for the rolling phenomenon of the
seat member 400 not to take place, and the operation lever 554 is pushed in the lateral direction and is moved to the two-stage operation hole 552 positioned at the lateral portion of the two-stage operation hole 552. At this time, the end portion of the operation lever 554 is separated from the gas absorber 221, so the operation rod 220 comes to ascend freely. In other words, when a user gets up from theseat member 400, since the operation rod 220 ascends since the operation rod 220 descends when the user sits in theseat member 400, so as such it is possible for a user to perform a certain exercise. - In the present invention, the multifunctional chair having a function of preventing the rotation during the sitting type exercise is characterized in that the three-stage fixing shoulder 131 formed in the
height adjusting part 132 of the fixingbracket 130 is formed in a circumference. When the above-mentioned construction is exploded and viewed, as shown inFIG. 15 , it is seen like a staircase shape in which one side is inclined, with the advantageous construction of which thestopper 162 formed at the inner diameters of therolling adjusting part 160 can best move and be fixedly positioned at the lower most portion and the upper most portion. - From the upper side of the
rolling adjusting part 160, in which the fixingbracket 130 is installed, is a little protruded a rubber ring member 163, which is made from a urethane material at the upper side of therolling adjusting part 160, more than the upper surface of therolling adjusting part 160. The rubber ring member 163 comes into close contact with the lower surface of the connection boss part 141 of theseat plate 140 for thereby elastically supporting during the rolling of the sitting seat or at the time when fixing. - The
stopper 162 is divided into three parts in a spiral shape, one side of which is inclined for thestopper 162 to easily move from the three-stage fixing shoulder 131. As such thestopper 162 can move from the three-stage fixing shoulder 131 of theheight adjusting part 132 by rotating therolling adjusting part 160 while holding one side of therolling adjusting part 160. Here, theseat plate 140 has a certain interval, as much as the distance that thestopper 162 moves, from the upper surface of the rubber ring member 163 at the side of therolling adjusting part 160 along with the sitting seat with respect to the rolling member 150 which is assembled as the hexagonalengaging part 152 of the upper and lower sides is engaged between theseat plate 140 from the fixingbracket 130. - As shown in
FIG. 13 , the above mentioned interval is created owing to the differences in heights, so the user can do exercise while sitting in the sitting seat as the user moves the sitting eat in the forward, backward, leftward or rightward direction. - The above mentioned sitting type exercise contributes to exercising or training the back spine including pelvises and knee joints of the body in a sitting posture or contributes to the rehabilitation in relation with the posture corrections.
- The motions of the sitting seat are related to the slope, in other words, the rolling movements. Since the hexagonal
engaging part 152 of the rolling member 150 is assembled to the hexagonal engaging grooves 130 a and 140 a formed at the inner diameters of the fixingbracket 130 and the connection boss part 141 of theseat plate 140, the twisting motions of the sitting seat can be prevented, which leads to preventing the unnecessary movements of the sitting seat. - The twisting prevention of the sitting seat in the multifunctional chair contributes to previously prevent the sitting seat and user's waist from abruptly rotating while the user exercises pelvises in a sitting posture, thus preventing the side effects of the exercise which might bring injuries.
- In case of
FIG. 14 , the lower surface of theseat plate 140 comes into close contact with the rubber ring member 163 of the upper surface of therolling adjusting part 160 by positioning thestopper 162 at the upper most portion of the fixing shoulder 131 of theheight adjusting part 132 by rotating therolling adjusting part 160, in other words, the operation state of which contributes to preventing the rolling of theseat plate 140. Here, the rubber ring member 163 provides a good close-contact performance and a good cushion feeling with the aid of the nature of the materials. The above mentioned state might be converted to the state that the present invention can be used for the purpose of an ordinary chair. - In a state that the mode is changed to the ordinary chair mode, the rolling member 150 provides a cushion effect with the aid of the elasticity of the material itself of the
body 154 and the compression spring 156 installed in the interior when a user sits in or gets up from the sitting seat, which reduces a users sitting burden when sitting. - When the multifunctional chair is used for the purpose of a chair exclusive mode at the side surface, the height adjusting lever 111 connected to the ascending and descending
member 120 installed at the fixingbracket 130 is operated, thus adjusting the heights of the sitting seat of the chair for the purpose of use. - There are various kinds of tools developed for the purpose of providing a proper exercise to each portion of a human body and performing a rehabilitation therapy on injuries and portions with weakened functions, and the present invention provided a multifunctional chair helping do a sitting type exercise by providing a function to the chair.
